As we admire the rough sawn wood siding harvested from the property for this home in the San Juans, drones allow us to visually survey areas that are otherwise hard to reach. They also give us fantastic perspective views of the entire project site!

Wood, steel, and concrete were thoughtfully integrated into the Pointing Dog project, a new home build in the Methow Valley. Exposed architectural timber played a central role in the design. The long, covered porch protects the home from the elements, allowing for year-round use.

Here’s another glimpse into this Meadow Retreat home in the San Juan Islands. With board-formed concrete and natural wood siding on the exterior, this light-filled home features natural materials and industrial finishes on the inside. High rectangular windows line the upper wall to let in even more soft, natural daylight.

Meet Max O’Neil, Project Manager in our Lopez office.

Max oversees the day-to-day ex*****on of the build, ensuring each project runs smoothly from planning stages on through to completion. His superpower is clear communication between homeowners, architects, and the field crew to address questions, manage changes, and keep the project aligned with the client’s vision and budget. 

Max finds great satisfaction with solving complicated construction issues that require critical thinking and creative solutions. 

In his free time, Max enjoys outdoor adventures, including fishing and scuba diving.
