No matter what you think of cottonwoods, ya gotta respect a 99” dsh tree surviving the sun, wind and cold of the high plains. These “ditch trees” are true monsters of the tree world. Amazing. These take me back to starting in arboriculture in Denver.

And a big thanks to Court Sherwood for the mentorship back in the day. Wouldn’t be here today with your guidance, big dog.

Everyday we have opportunities to advise tree owners/managers to help them make a smart decision about trees. Today’s challenge was what to do with a 90-inch Sequiadendron giganteum with roots obliterating a road in a local cemetery. What are all the different ways you could improve this situation without removing@the tree or creating excessive residual risk? Can you guess what we decided to do? You’ll need to be creative. Comment with your ideas and I’ll share the client’s decision.
