I feel like one of the luckiest ladies east of the Rockies today! Ngl, immediately thought I needed a tattoo of this gorgeous moth!

What would you do with greenstalks that are frustrating to w**d? In our last house, we had them on a cinderblock base so we could easily get around them. Maybe that's what I should do here? I can't decide if I should move them further into the garden by the beds, maybe move them to the shade on the other side of the fence and fill them with lettuce and cool season herbs, or maybe some other third option? What do you think? 2nd photo is what the main garden looks like, although I do have another bed behind the white fence that's going to be for peas, lettuce, etc. I have one greenstalk along the front porch with flowers, it's totally deconstructed. Let me know your thoughts!

having to get creative about cooling This Old House was not on my June bucket list but here we are. we definitely need to find someone who has the capability of recharging our HVAC unit but until we do we are just going to use the principles of science to use geothermal cooling and make this space reasonable to live in.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is to get another thing that depends on you for its life. does it always lower your stress levels? no. but it doesn't make them higher either. at least that's my story. I'm sticking to it

In the heavy season I am in, I have been continually blessed to be surrounded by beauty in the small things. those things make life better. life is worth living, even when it is hard.

I love fireworks more than most people I know. When I lived in Orlando, I watched them every night it wasnt raining. As much as I love fireworks, I also realize how disruptive they are. someone set one off at 6 the other day - just a single mortar - and I about fell off the truck from being startled. I didn't think this is the hill I would take a stand on in my 30s, but there are so many veterans, animals, and small kids around. I feel like it's reasonable to not do this every single night, ya know?

Today I added "compost" to the beds. Again, I think that's a bit of a stretch - it has a ton of mulch in it. But honestly, it sure does make it look stunning, especially with that storm rolling in! Now I feel like I need to add another bed though, so I can even it up. Alternatively, I can throw a patch of corn in there. What would you do?

Maintaining cast iron requires oil! cooking with it is a different skillset, but they work in tandem so if you need an example of that I can do that too!
