This section of the kitchen originally had upper and lower cabinets with a countertop in between. But because it wasn’t a cooking or prep area, that counter wasn’t serving much of a purpose ❌

What these homeowners actually needed was more storage and a place to keep their appliances out of sight…

Sometimes you don’t need a renovation. You need a different perspective 🌟

This client had already contacted an architect about removing the central fireplace because the flow of their living and dining spaces wasn’t working.

Instead, we swapped the living and dining areas and created a smaller seating area. The fireplace stayed, the flow worked, and we avoided a renovation that wasn’t actually necessary.

Sometimes good design is just as much about what doesn’t need to change 👀

Leah: “Maybe a den or living room because there are so many opportunities to mix colors, patterns, textures and weaves.
But I also love kitchens for the cabinetry and hard selections…

And bathrooms because I’m obsessed with natural stone. Granite & Marble Works is my happy place”

🌟Design for the space in front of you, not a formula🌟

“You must follow the rule of 3!”
“Art has to be hung 57 inches from the floor!”

Design rules can be helpful starting points, but they’re not always the right answer for every room…

I’d rather consider the scale of the space, what’s happening around it, and what feels visually right. Sometimes that means two pendants instead of three. Sometimes it means hanging art where you can actually see and enjoy it, not where a measurement tells you it SHOULD go.
