🛑 Why One Unsealed Screw Can Ruin Your Floor

When installing sliding windows and doors, the devil is always in the details. One of the absolute, unbreakable rules of a high-quality installation is this: every single mounting screw on the bottom track must be set in silicone. Here is why skipping even one hole can lead to disaster:

• Water always finds a weak spot: The bottom track of a slider takes the brunt of the weather—whether it's heavy, driving rain or a storm. Water inevitably pools in the tracks. If a screw hole isn't sealed with sealant, water will follow the screw's threads right into the structure through capillary action.

• The hidden threat of rot and mold: You won't notice this leak right away. Moisture will seep into the wood subfloor or concrete foundation for months. In hot and humid conditions, this creates the perfect breeding ground for destructive black mold and structural rot.
