was this past Monday. What a great, venue at Escondido to have such a impactful fund raiser for 2 families in need of help.
was invited to help by donating a basket for the silent auction. In that basket was some swag from Apollo: shirts, beer glasses, and the big prize was "Brew with Pros Day" which included a full day of a 1 on 1 brew day with the Apollo team and, its latest version of the "Rocket2000" Automated Brew System. And at the end of fermentation, receive a full keg of beer or a case of custom designed labeled bottles of beer.
Geoff Giblin was the winner with a bid of $350 and got to claim his gift today. Beer to Brew was a Clone of and like its name, looks like used motor oil. This beer is an American Imperial stout aged in Bourbon barrels. For this beer, we are going to ferment, then age in Bourbon infused Oak chips, then hold off on drinking for 6-12 months, or skip the aging part if Geoff can't wait .

What a better way to spend the day by Supporting Hearts for San Diego at Birdies And Beers Event and brewing a Hefeweizen on Disc golf course with no power!
Challenge, of course it was, but not extreme. The Morning started off with loading The Rocket 2000 Brewery in a trailer. 10 minutes later, strapped down and ready to go. At the Golf course, we unloaded the brewery wheeled in down a cart path and over some grass, onto a stage added water, turned on the Honda 1000 generator, fired up the pilot lights on the Automated burners, and bam it was like brewing at shop.
We had quite a few people checking the system out, but once The Barley and wheat were added the crowd started forming. "The aroma drew me over", one person said. Soon we were pouring sample after sample and quickly ran out of beer the machine brewed previously including : Boubon barrel aged stout, Irish Red brewed for St. Patrick's day, and a Scottish Stong ALE brewed 3 weeks ago. People were mystified that the beers were brewed on Home Brew set up.
The Apollo crew manned the both, fielding questions, and best all, were all able to venture out to sample several Breweries beers at the event, while the automation of the Rocket 2000 kept all the temperatures and Times in check. "Not to worry, I got this" the machine yelled out as we left it, haha. .
Little wind on the course, gave the burners some challenge by increasing the time to get to boil, but once there, rolling like mad. That and getting to the remote location were the biggest obstacles, but all in all, was just like another brew day at Apollo.
The Rocket 2000 complete brewery package will make its debut for sale in mid summer of this year. It will feature its smart app ground control guidence system, and it's temperature controlled fermenter, " Converter Unit" able to attain up to 50 degrees from ambient temperature. Public testing facility will be located in North San Diego, where you can sample and test drive the complete Brewery, while enjoying Beer made Brats and burgers.
