Plant shopping should feel inspiring — not overwhelming. 🌿

One of my favorite parts of this work is helping clients hunt down the perfect plants for their space.

Today we found a beautiful peach tree 🍑my client had been dreaming about… and the experience was super joyful.

When you shop with a plant expert, you’re not just buying plants — you’re getting:
✨ Real-time problem solving
✨ Guidance on what will actually thrive
✨ Design insight and placement ideas
✨ Help avoiding costly mistakes
✨ Access to special growers and hidden gems
✨ Confidence and ease throughout the process

I help clients make smart + thoughtful choices that work long term.

And a bonus: Plant shopping together becomes a whole experience — part treasure hunt, part garden therapy, part expert consulting. 🌱

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed at a nursery or unsure what to buy, this service was made for you.

From the mouths of babes #🥹

There’s something that happens to children when they step outside into fresh air.
You can feel it before you can explain it…their “aliveness” kicks into gear!

At Rising Oak Nature Education, learning doesn’t begin at a desk—it begins with curiosity, stewardship and organic play. With soil between fingers. With questions sparked by weather, plants, insects, flowers, vegetables, and growth!

Outdoor learning isn’t an “extra.”
It’s a critical foundation.

Because when children learn in nature:
• They develop resilience, not just knowledge
• They learn to observe before they react
• They build confidence through doing—not memorizing
• They form a REAL relationship with the world they’re growing into

A garden becomes a classroom.
A child becomes deeply connected—to themselves, to others, and to the earth.

This is the kind of education that stays with them.
This is the kind of education that shapes who they become.
And truly—
our future depends on it.

✊🧀 A Small Sign. A Big Message.
Yesterday, I walked into The Cheese Parlor — just looking for delicious cheeses to eat.

What I didn’t expect was to exhale after reading a small sign on the counter. It didn’t just say “welcome” — it meant it. It named what they won’t allow: hate, bigotry, xenophobia, racism, sexism. And it declared, without apology:

“Everyone is Welcome and Respected Here.”

“We believe in Kindness and Respect. We are all one People. Together is how we Rise.” 🙌

That sign didn’t just set rules — it set a tone. It told every person who walked through that door: you are safe here and the values of the proprietor serving you are nourishment for the soul. #❤

As a small business owner who believes in creating peace and ease for others, I deeply respect ✊ this intention to promote civility by stating loving boundaries.

To all business owners who do this work — who use their platform, their counter space, their community presence to create genuine belonging and make their customers feel safe — thank you.

And to anyone who loves cheese and hasn’t been, you MUST VISIT and taste all the deliciousness!
