“Summer’s Symphony” holds a special place in my heart. It was my first award-winning painting from California Art Club at the Sensation of Summer exhibition in 2024.

For a long time, I wasn’t sure I could part with it. Some paintings become markers of a particular moment in an artist’s journey and this was one of those for me.

But art is meant to be lived with and I’m grateful that Summer’s Symphony now belongs to a fellow art lover who connected with it. Knowing it will be enjoyed every day makes it easier to say goodbye.

Gloves on.COA signed.One last brush of dust off “California Comfort” before the journey begins.

This piece from my Comfort Series is officially wrapped and delivered to Charleston for the International Guild of Realism 20th Annual Juried Exhibition at Principle Gallery.

Still surreal seeing one of my latest works heading across the country to be part of a show alongside so many incredible realist painters. Grateful to the International Guild of Realism and Principle Gallery for including my work.

After a couple of wonderful Open Studio weekends, I’m officially exhausted… but my heart is so full. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, brought friends, shared conversations, supported my work or simply took the time to visit. One of the best parts of Open Studios is getting to connect in person and share the stories behind the paintings.

Some paintings found their forever homes this weekend, but the one closest to my heart was Summer’s Symphony. It was my very first award-winning piece with the California Art Club, which made it especially meaningful to me. I almost didn’t include it in the show and only added it at the very last minute.

I’m so glad it found a home with an artist .sketches who appreciates it. That means more to me than I can say.

Celebrating Ao Dai Day

I’ve always loved traditional dresses , the elegance, the history, and the stories they carry through fabric, color, and movement. Ever since I was young, I’ve loved sketching girls and female figures — especially women in traditional attire and the Ao Dai has always felt especially timeless and graceful to me.

These custom oil paintings of ladies in Ao Dai were such a joy to create. I wanted to capture not only the beauty of the dress itself, but also the softness, strength and confidence of the women wearing them.

Happy Ao Dai Day to everyone celebrating culture, tradition, and beauty that continues to inspire across generations 🌸
