⚡ Electrical Need-to-Know

Look closely at the top outlet in this photo.

Do you see the problem?

The face of the receptacle has broken off, exposing the internal electrical contacts that are normally protected behind the outlet face.

That means the metal parts inside could potentially be energized and accessible.

This outlet may still appear to “work,” but it’s no longer safe.

Outlets wear out over time, especially in older homes where they’ve been used thousands of times.

If you notice outlets that are:
• cracked
• loose
• missing pieces
• or plugs won’t stay in

…it’s time to replace them.

Sometimes the smallest electrical problems are the easiest to overlook.

⚠️ HOMEOWNER HEARD A “SIZZLING” SOUND — THIS IS WHAT WE FOUND ⚠️

What started as a strange noise from the electrical panel could have easily turned into a serious fire risk. Loose and overheating connections were creating dangerous conditions behind the cover — something most homeowners would never see until it’s too late.

The homeowner did exactly the right thing by calling immediately. North Tahoe Electric Solutions LLC responded, diagnosed the hazard, and coordinated with the local utility to safely shut down power so the issue could be addressed properly.

🔥 Many electrical fires start from problems just like this — loose terminations, aging equipment, and lack of routine inspection.

If you ever hear buzzing, sizzling, popping, or notice a burning smell from your panel, don’t ignore it. Those are early warning signs.

👉 Preventative maintenance is the cheapest insurance you can have for your home’s electrical system.

⚡ Backup power done the right way ⚡

This homeowner needed a safe, reliable way to use a portable generator during power outages. The existing service disconnect did not allow a safe means of connecting a generator and posed a serious backfeeding risk.

With proper planning and research, we upgraded the system using a Siemens panel paired with an engineered, approved generator interlock kit. This setup allows the generator to power the home safely while physically preventing backfeed to the utility—protecting the home, the equipment, and utility line workers.

✔ Code-compliant
✔ Utility-safe
✔ Designed for Tahoe outages

When the power goes out, this home stays on—safely.
