At this point, big moves have to be made if the Giants want to make a run at the postseason...
How’s this for a coincidence?
Rafael Devers was the Giants’ key acquisition in the 2025 MLB regular season, as they finally got the star slugger they were looking for after missing out on names such as Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.
Nearly one year later, and Devers might be on his way out of The Bay.
According to baseball insider Buster Olney, the Giants are now willing to trade the biggest players on their roster, which is, of course, headlined by Devers.
Including this year, the lefty slugger will be owed $223.5 million until the 2032 season.
Devers is having a lower-than-usual production in 2026, sporting a batting slash line of .235/.293/.413 and “just” 9 home runs and 101 OPS+
The Giants are, as of posting time, 16.5 games back in the National League West, and 8.5 games back for the final wild card spot 👀
