It’s October 1st—we can’t believe it. And somehow, it’s still HOT. Here’s hoping fall makes its way to San Diego soon

We’re heading into the month with two new project starts and can’t wait to get after each one!

A lot of positive momentum heading into October and as we close out the year

Behind the build

What you see is seamless. What you don’t see is the planning behind it.
Every molding, trim detail, and piece of millwork was thoughtfully selected and coordinated to fit together with intention

We partnered with our friends Mike to explore profiles and combinations that complemented the design and created the layered finish we envisioned

Whether it’s the precision of a modern home or the richness of traditional millwork, the difference is in the details—and those details are decided long before the first piece is installed

Great craftsmanship starts with great planning

There’s so much more to custom home building than what you see in the finished images. The homes we share can take years of planning, coordination, and construction to bring to life—and just as much work happens behind the scenes to make the process run well

As owners, we’re proud of that work, too. We’re constantly looking for ways to refine our building process, strengthen our operations, and continue raising the standard of service we provide our clients

That’s one of the reasons we’re part of a National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Builder 20 Group, meeting twice a year with fellow builders to dig into everything from construction to business operations

Last week, we had the privilege of visiting Summit Pointe Builders Inc. and seeing firsthand a team that not only builds with exceptional craftsmanship, but puts just as much care into the relationships and experience they provide their past, current, and future clients

We left inspired and energized—and look forward to bringing those conversations, ideas, and lessons back to CHB as we continue working on the business, not just in it

Hot days call for days in the pool and under this covered patio

One of our favorite features of this custom build is the variety of outdoor spaces—from the pool house and patio to the custom steel pool covering

Each space was designed for gathering, relaxing, and making the most of summer days

We’ll be here until the heat wave passes

OUR CHB CORE VALUES

Work Hard & Take Ownership
Exceed Expectations
Be Positive & Proactive
Be the Experts
Lead with Honesty, Integrity & Respect

These are more than words on a wall. They’re the standard we hold ourselves to every day.
They shape how we work, how we show up for our partners, and most importantly, the experience we create for our clients

This is CHB. This is how we build

Two living spaces. Two distinct experiences. One incredible setting

With the Pacific as the backdrop and open land stretching beyond, each space was designed to feel peaceful in its own way while staying connected to the landscape outside

Angled windows and wide sliding glass doors were thoughtfully positioned to make the most of the views, bringing the outdoors into both levels of the home.
Downstairs, the existing mid-century fireplace became a defining feature, paired with an exposed wood ceiling that preserves the character of the original home while giving the space a renewed sense of place

Different spaces. Different feelings. Connected by the view

Cool blues travel in and out of every space in this custom home—from the white marble tile and muted blue inset cabinetry to the grey-blue exterior shutters.
The result is cool, coastal, and effortlessly elegant

A coincidence? We don’t think so

It’s intentional design and thoughtful building: giving each space its own feeling while creating a home that feels cohesive from beginning to end. Nothing repeated. Nothing overlooked. Every space unique, yet connected
