Good contractor vs bad contractor. Part 2 of 4 and this one is going to hit home for a lot of San Diego homeowners who have been burned before. 👇
Change Orders
A good contractor writes up every single change order, gets it signed by the homeowner and collects a deposit before any additional work ever begins. No surprises at the end. A bad contractor just adds it to the final bill and tells you it will be okay.
Subcontractors
A good contractor has every subcontractor's current W9, license and insurance on file before they ever step foot on the job site. No exceptions. A bad contractor says he is my guy and he is good. That is it. That is the whole vetting process.
Material Selection
A good contractor uses a complete selection sheet so every member of the team knows exactly what material goes where at every single point of the project. Nothing is left to guessing. A bad contractor will pick up the tile when they get there.
Every one of these differences costs homeowners time, money and stress. This is what separates a real professional from someone who just picked up a tool one day. 💪🏡
Part 3 is coming soon. Follow along so you do not miss it and if you are a San Diego homeowner who wants the good contractor experience give us a call at Sunset Design and Build and let's build something awesome together 👇
