Striking the right humidity balance is one of the biggest secrets to a thriving greenhouse! 🌿

Too high, and you risk fungal issues like powdery mildew. Too low, and your plants lose moisture fast, causing leaves to curl and dry out. Finding that sweet spot between 50% and 70% humidity keeps your crops breathing easily and growing strong all year long.

“We wanted to grow vegetables in a quality-made greenhouse that could withstand our harsh climate. This is the first season that we will be growing anything. We plan on growing all the vegetables we eat regularly. Some examples: potatoes, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, and herbs.

We can now plant vegetables earlier in the season, and it extends the growing season by a few months. Also, it looks super cool and I’m proud we built it! It makes me want to use it!”

We grow vegetables in the summer, so we can eat organic and healthy. We know it is safe because it is from our land. Then in the winter seasons, we split half for tropical plants & another half for vegetables.

Planta Greenhouse lets us create our own microclimate, controlling the temperature and humidity I want to expose to my plants to. I can grow vegetables all year long, which is my main purpose or I can do anything I choose to. The best thing is that the greenhouse provides an adaptable growing environment.”

Here are 4 essential tasks from our Fall Maintenance Checklist:

🧼 Deep Clean Panels: Dust and algae block essential autumn sunlight. A simple wash with warm, soapy water lets maximum light reach your winter crops!

🚪 Seal Out Drafts: Check door and window seals for cold air leaks. Adding fresh weather stripping helps maintain steady interior temperatures.

🧹 Disinfect Trays & Shelves: Wipe down benches with a mild disinfectant to prevent pests and bacteria from overwintering in your setup.

🍂 Clear the Drainage: Scoop out fallen leaves from your gutters to prevent standing water around your foundation.

“I grow rare, collectors cactus exclusively in my Planta and they love it! My goal is to have the best private cactus collection in the State on New Mexico!

For me, it not only has extended my growing season, it's given my cactus a permanent, year round home! I no longer have to haul every plant indoors every single year for winter.

It's my happy place. Truly. I visit all of my plants every day and it fills me with joy to watch them all look so happy and healthy. Planta has given my plants an appropriate home and I appreciate it!”
