Spectrum Plumbing is growing, and we're officially looking to add a Journeyman Plumber to our team!

We're looking for a skilled journeyman plumber who takes pride in their work, values quality craftsmanship, communicates well with customers, and wants to be part of a growing, family-owned company that believes in doing things the right way.

And even if you're not looking for a new opportunity yourself, we'd greatly appreciate you sharing this post to help us find the right person. Word of mouth has always been one of the greatest gifts our community has given us.

Thank you for helping us grow!

There are a lot of plumbers out there, so many of them do amazing work and we're glad to call them friends in the trade. But if we had to explain what makes Spectrum Plumbing different, it comes down to the level of care we bring into people’s homes.

We may not always be the cheapest plumber — and we’re okay with that.

Quality work, taking the time to do things correctly, and attention to detail matter to us. We never want to cut corners just to rush through a job, because shortcuts have a way of becoming expensive problems later.

We also don’t believe homeowners should feel pressured or confused about what’s happening in their own homes and what is truly necessary when it comes to your plumbing. We take the time to explain what we’re seeing, walk through options, and help customers make informed decisions without the upselling.

And maybe most importantly — we believe your home is your safe space.

We know inviting someone into your home requires trust, and we never take that lightly. We genuinely love people, we respect our customers, and regardless of background, beliefs, identity, or lifestyle, everyone deserves to feel comfortable, respected, and cared for when we walk through the door.

At the end of the day, we’re not just there to fix plumbing. We’re there to take care of the people we're proud to call customers.

Throwing it back to one of our favorite Just the Tip Tuesday posts because this one contains information every homeowner should know.

This throwback covers some of the most common things you should never put down your garbage disposal (and trust us… we’ve seen some things!).

A few small habit changes can help prevent clogs, odors, jams, and expensive repairs later.

Today we pause to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is an opportunity to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and to recognize that many of the freedoms we enjoy each day came through extraordinary sacrifice.

We remember — and we are forever grateful.

Nobody likes talking about sewer lines… until there’s sewage backing up into the house.

Your sewer line usually gives warning signs before a major backup happens — recurring clogs, drains slowing down, sewer smells, and strange issues that seem to keep coming back.

We put together a blog breaking down what to watch for, when a sewer scope makes sense, and how to catch problems before they turn into a much bigger headache.

A little knowledge now can save a lot of stress (and money) later.

Think your sewer line might have a problem? This post covers the warning signs Keizer homeowners should watch for and how a sewer scope can help catch issues before they turn into expensive backups.

One thing we take a lot of pride in — beyond the plumbing itself — is how we treat your home while we’re in it.

We know inviting someone into your home requires trust, and we don’t take that lightly. From laying mats down to protect your flooring, to cleaning up thoroughly when the job is done, we do our best to leave your home cleaner than when we arrived.

Attention to detail matters to us in every part of the job — not just the plumbing work itself.

Just The Tip Tuesday: Servicing electric water

If your electric water heater isn’t keeping up with hot water demand, a failed heating element could be the culprit.

We’re sharing photos of an old vs. new heating element from a recent repair. Over time, these elements wear out and become less effective, which can leave you with lukewarm water, inconsistent temperatures, or hot water that runs out way too quickly.

Sometimes replacing the heating elements is all it takes to restore your hot water without replacing the entire unit.

Regular maintenance and servicing on electric water heaters is important too. Keeping up with maintenance can help extend the life of your water heater, improve efficiency, and keep your hot water flowing reliably for years to come.

Not every water heater issue means you need a brand new tank.

It’s been a busy week of water heater installs over here.

From a brand new on-demand water heater to a 75-gallon commercial-sized unit, we’ve been hard at work making sure our customers have reliable hot water flowing again.

There’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to water heaters — every home and every family has different needs, and it’s always rewarding helping customers find the right solution for their space.

Safe to say… we’ve been spending a lot of time around hot water lately!

This video shows a “belly” in a sewer line we found during a recent sewer scope inspection.

Issues like this can sit unnoticed underground for years before they start causing slow drains or recurring backups. Sewer scopes are such a valuable tool when it comes to seeing what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Here’s a section of a recent sewer scope inspection where we found what’s called a “belly” in the piping.

A belly is a low spot in the sewer line where water and waste can collect instead of flowing properly downhill. Over time, that standing water can cause solids and debris to build up in the pipe, increasing the risk of slow drains, recurring backups, and blockages in the main sewer line.

Sometimes these issues go unnoticed for years until homeowners begin experiencing repeated drainage problems.

This is exactly why sewer scopes can be so valuable — they allow us to see what’s actually happening underground instead of guessing from above.
