Another deck project wrapped up! 🔨

For this project, we built two new outdoor living spaces — a large freestanding lower deck along with an elevated upper deck overlooking the backyard.

We finished both decks with Deckorators Venture Shoreline composite decking and matching fascia, giving everything a clean, cohesive look. The upper deck was finished off with Kadence Elegance black aluminum railing, which pairs perfectly with the Shoreline decking.

A great combination of low-maintenance materials, added outdoor space, and a clean modern finish!

Thinking about a new deck or replacing your existing one? We’d love to help bring your ideas to life.

More room to park. More room to live. A whole new welcome home. 🏡
We recently completed this transformation on Bald Eagle Lake, replacing the existing garage with a new two-story addition and rebuilding the front porch!
This project brought together:
🔨 A new two-car garage, built from the foundation up
🛏️ Finished living space above, including bedrooms and a bathroom
☀️ New windows and a hallway skylight for added natural light
✨ Hardwood hallway flooring and fresh interior trim
🌲 A rebuilt front porch
Matching the home’s existing roofline and exterior details helped tie the addition into the original house, while creating more usable space for everyday life.
Thank you to our homeowners for trusting Carter Custom Construction & Fireplaces with such a meaningful project!

🏠 THIS is what a full main-level remodel looks like. 🔥

This wasn’t just new cabinets and countertops—we completely transformed the layout and expanded the footprint of this home. Believe it or not, these before-and-after photos were taken from almost the exact same angles. What a transformation!

We started by demoing the existing kitchen, then took things even further:

🔨 Excavated and poured a new crawl space to create a larger footprint
🔨 Reframed the addition and installed new roof trusses
🔨 Opened up the main level for a much larger kitchen and dining area
🔨 Installed new hardwood flooring throughout
🔨 Added all-new cabinetry with a massive center island
🔨 Installed quartz countertops and matching quartz backsplash
🔨 Upgraded the electrical throughout with new recessed lighting
🔨 Added a mini-split system for year-round comfort
🔨 Finished it off with new appliances, trim, paint and all the details

The before-and-after pictures really tell the story. What was once a small, closed-off kitchen is now a bright, open main level with a huge kitchen built for everyday living and entertaining.

This is exactly why we love full-scale remodeling—sometimes the best way to completely change a home is to go well beyond the finishes and rebuild the space from the ground up.

Another stunning outdoor living space in the books! 🙌

This elevated deck build features ProWood TrueFrame pressure-treated framing built to last through every Minnesota season, topped with Azek Vintage Collection decking in English Walnut — a rich, warm tone that looks incredible day or night. We paired it with Afco Cable Rail and a matching Azek Vintage English Walnut drink rail for a clean, modern look that doesn’t block the view.

But the detail that really takes it to the next level? The lighting. LED riser lights illuminate every step, and LED post cap and side-mount wedge lights cast a warm glow across the entire deck. The photos speak for themselves.

Thank you again to our returning customer for trusting us with another project!

Big upgrade to how we build decks at Carter Custom Construction 🔨

We’re now offering ProWood TrueFrame framing — a major step up from traditional green treated lumber.

Why Trueframe is superior:
• Kiln-dried after treatment = straighter, more stable boards
• Factory planed for consistent sizing
• Less warping, twisting, and shrinkage
• Tighter, quieter, longer-lasting decks
• Perfect base for composite/PVC decking

Traditional treated lumber is wet and moves a lot as it dries. TrueFrame gives you a cleaner build that holds up over time.

Your deck is only as good as what’s underneath it — this is how you do it right.
