Had a pretty awesome day mowing 11 yards—would’ve been 12, but a super nice customer asked if I could wait a week since she wanted to clean her yard after the storms. Guess it’s my week for hoses and hose sprayer. Smoked another one today. Got home and pulled out my August gas bill—honestly, it doesn’t reflect the stops I hit in Fowler, Grand Ledge, and Kroger. It definitely hurts the profit, but, I’m still living in the greatest country on earth. Truly blessed.......

Over the next several months and a few months this coming spring, my trailer will be going through a transformation. One thing that's missing is the John Deere Q810E series 36 inch stand on mower. I think it's going to be a great addition to my current equipment. It's coming to a lawn mowing business soon.

THIS HEAT IS DANGEROUS!

I don’t care how tough you are or how used to working outside you think you are, the heat does NOT care.

💧 Drink water BEFORE you’re thirsty.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade.
🧊 Keep electrolytes close.
👀 Check on your coworkers, neighbors, kids & pets.

🚨 If you start feeling dizzy, confused, nauseous or weak, STOP.

No yard, paycheck, or project is worth a trip to the hospital.

It doesn't take long to ruin a good set of blades. Due to some overgrown grass, I didn't see a rock while mowing my third lawn yesterday. The three damaged blades have been replaced and I ordered two new sets from Ballard Inc. Cost of doing business.

I completed the St. John's route between showers today. I must admit that I am not particularly fond of mowing wet grass. Upon stopping at the house, I exchanged equipment and proceeded to Grand Ledge to clean up a yard. I am truly grateful to a friend who kindly accepted the debris for compost. After dinner, I decided to mow my own lawn. While doing so, I noticed a fish in my yard—I believe it was likely dropped by a bird during flight. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Well, the day started with great intentions to have a productive work day. Quick trip to Portland to pick up the 661R, yes, another mechanical failure. Darn near $800 to fix a hydraulic hose, with over $600 being labor. Ran back home and started mowing the St. John's route and now it's raining. Here we go.... time to get wet.....

Woke up early for my first job of the day—punched a bunch of holes in the ground for a privacy fence. Then we headed over to help this customer’s parents with their yard. Ran over to another house and drilled two more holes. After that, I zipped over to Uncle John’s and helped set up tents for the 2026 FeedUm Festival. Great day of hard work.
