Why do some refinishing companies charge around $350.00 or so to refinish a bathtub, while others charge nearly double?
It really comes down to the type of product being offered — and the type of customer the company is trying to serve.
Some customers simply need a bathtub to look white, shiny, and new. Maybe the home is being sold, a contractor is flipping the property, or it’s a rental or commercial property where tubs are refinished regularly. For that customer, a lower-cost refinishing job may make perfect sense.
Other customers are investing thousands of dollars into remodeling their bathroom and want the bathtub refinishing to match that level of quality. They’re looking for better materials, more extensive preparation, skilled application, and a finish designed to hold up for many years.
That level of refinishing takes more time, better products, more experience, and greater attention to detail — and naturally, it costs more.
As the customer, the choice is yours. There’s a market for both types of refinishing. Just don’t make the mistake of assuming that $350.00 refinishing job and a premium refinishing job are the same product simply because both tubs look white and shiny on day one.
The real difference isn’t always what the bathtub looks like the day the job is finished. It’s how it was prepared, what products were used, the skill behind the application, and how that finish performs years down the road.
Fox Valley Bathtub Refinishing is proud to be one of the area’s premier refinishing companies. We’re not the cheapest option — and we don’t try to be. We choose to invest in quality materials, proven preparation methods, craftsmanship, and the extra time it takes to do the job right. We proudly stand behind our work and believe our customers deserve a refinishing job built for long-term value, not just a bathtub that looks good on day one.
