Back at it with creating some toys for my toddler— I recently found a cutie play kitchen from marketplace and finally got around to accessorizing it to encourage pretend play. We use Bambu Lab and love it for the ease of searching thematic toys on their maker platform. Models print easily overnight, in the background, and changing out colors is simple

He loves it all and it makes me so happy 🥹 here are the models we used:

- Toy pan
- Olive oil bottle pass through
- Toy egg with shell
- Pasta play set
- Toy spatula
- Cheese for toy shop
- Tomato spiral toy
- Kids toy knife

Juggling both boys at home had me wondering whether I was giving enough time to each one (especially to Thom as Finn is a little more needy right now). I want to teach him things as he’s soaking up a ton of information, so I wanted to provide him toys that are fun but educational, durable and long lasting to pass onto Finn one day. We got the Bambu Lab a couple months ago and I wasn’t sure at first how easy it would be but to my surprise, it’s been a breeze to set up. Swapping between different colors is seamless and quick, and it’s rather quiet so there’s no disturbance for when I want quality time with the boys. It’s also a huge plus that the cloud service is excellent, allowing Thom to choose a model and see it made in the printer shortly after.

The MakerWorld models we made from (in order of appearance):
- Alphabet Snake
- Montessori Crocodile Pliers
- Corn 3D Jigsaw Puzzle
- Vegetable Basket Balance Stack
- Kids Shape Stacker Puzzle
- Montessori Apple Puzzle
- Animal Puzzle for Kids
- Lightweight Plane Glider

When I’m short on time and low on energy, this is what fights the fatigue for me:

- Mackerel (or sardines): packed with omega-3s, B12 and vitamin D Fishwife
- Eggs: great source of B2, B5, B12 vitamins, iron, and complete protein, good for sustaining energy
- Black sesame seeds: rich in fiber, antioxidants, iron, calcium and healthy fats
- Sourdough: provides steadier energy due to fermentation Bread Alone Bakery
- Parmesan: a little bit of calcium, protein and a little more B12
- Tomatoes: a good dose of vitamin C to help absorb iron from eggs and fish
- Cucumber: delivers refreshing hydration to the body as dehydration can also cause fatigue

I used to love cooking up elaborate meals for lunch and dinner but that’s hard to commit to these days. Also choosing to romanticize my meals by using dinnerware I’d normally use for special occasions and gosh what a game changer that has been!!! Transforming mundane routines into special moments by making tiny changes is such a crucial muscle to train as a mom 🙂‍↔️

Feeling silly about how much this changed my mood and might delete later…just thought I’d post this with no filter, no fancy effects or audio, no makeup, all the sticky spit up and day-or-two old pjs. It’s been rough this (very long) winter with a colicky baby who also has reflux and has a hard time being anywhere but in his parents arms. It’s so easy to get wound up in the frustration of feeling “trapped” until you just simply put on a song and dance with him, reminding yourself that he will never be this little again and in a few months or years you’ll wish to be right back in this chapter.

I haven’t responded to everyone yet but I also want to say *thank you* to all the incredible women who responded to my stories the other day about feeling exhausted and stuck at this point in motherhood. It’s not lost on me that even while all the other moms in this world are likely going through the same level of exhaustion and overstimulation, that they’re usually the first ones to offer support, wisdom, and love. Even to strangers. Your messages meant a lot more to me than you might think! Excuse me while I cry again 🤧

Life is busier than ever with two little ones now, and I’m more grateful than ever for Kota and Pip. Last year we used ’s Breed + Health Test to learn how to best care for them and it unearthed so much about them (including that Pip is half Great Pyrenees…which makes SO much sense!).

Knowing exactly what they need brings real peace of mind. Kota and Pip have always taken good care of us…and now I can care for them even better.
