CURB "Citizens United to Restrict Blowers"
A group of Sacramento residents working to restrict leaf blowing devices to create a better quality of life.

Policy changes CURB wants to see:
1) No blower use outside of the City's "leaf season" which is November, December, January.

2) No blowing in the streets, ever.

3) Use of blowing devices time allowance of 5 minutes daily during leaf season. Electric vacuums preferred; City could incentivize this with a payment program to help companies and citizens turn in their gas powered blowers & convert to

using less polluting, quiet vacuum devices. 1 example of such is this: www.drpower.com/inquiry/leaf-lawn-vacuums

Please ask you state legislators to support Assembly Bill 1346. If approved, the ban would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, or as soon as the California Air Resources Board determines it is feasible.

Members of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee this week advanced the proposed law, Assembly Bill 1346. Assemblyman Marc Berman, D-Menlo Park, wrote the bill and described it as an important effort to reduce air pollution.

While this isn’t much, it’s better than nothing. It bans all leaf blowers, gas and electric, when the Air Quality Index (AQI) is at or above 101 (roughly 30 days of the year):

In a conversation with ABC10, Vice Mayor Jeff Harris said the ordinance was health-focused by tying the ban to air quality.

Please keep blower dust & gas emissions down - it’s another lung risk that we don’t need in these COVID-19 times.
