Quick little PSA on Bark Beetles and how to deal with them. 🪳🌲

Bark Beetles have become an immense issue in our county due to the drought we have had and we have had lots of questions on the best ways to combat them.

When a tree becomes infested it means that all of the trees biological defenses have failed therefore there is no real way to save an infested tree.

There are No Sprayable Pesticides Nor Arborjets on the market that will repel Beetles from an actively infested tree. The best way to take care of an infested tree is to have it cut, and removed off the property so the beetles cant just move on to another source.

Bark Beetles release a Blue Stain Fungi that blocks water and nutrient transport helping the beetle in finishing off the tree. There is no cure for the Fungi once it has infected the sapwood. Only Sprays and injections to repel the Beetles.

However there are options to get your property ready for next year before beetle season starts which is normally around spring from (April - June).

You can clear any and all Infested trees or stumps that are standing or down to help clear the infestation. Thinning trees to reduce competition and help keep strong trees healthy. Watering your trees regularly during dry spouts helps maintain optimal health and gives the tree the best chance to naturally push out the beetles with sap.
You may also contact a Certified Arborist (Thats Us) and see if pesticides such as Spraying and/or Injections are the right choice for your Trees 🌳

💚When it Comes to Tree Care We Care💚

Lately our Crews at Never Sycamore Trees have been working hard and had the chance to work on a pretty cool project removing several 🌲Ponderosa Pines, which had all been killed by beetles.
But in the midst of Rigging Down one of the Dead Trees leaning over a Shed, we noticed a rather large 🐝Bee Hive In one of the larger Pine Trees selected for removal that we had missed beforehand. As we looked at all the hazards of the situation Including the Root Rot, The active Bee Hive and the recent die off from the Beetle Kill we made the conscious decision to continue on with our original game plan.
So our Lead Climber Aaron Cox strapped on the Bee Suit and got to work. After safely getting the Tree on the ground we made sure to promptly remove the Bees and the Comb Safely, and continue on with the removal.

This past week our teams had the pleasure of doing a Hazard Removal of a Ponderosa Pine that was growing through a Deck and a Roof!
Using advanced rigging methods, such as Speedlining and Negative Rigging we were able to safely and successfully bring the tree down with no faults.
When it comes to dealing with hazards, Our teams at Never Sycamore Trees take every step to ensure the safety of everyones property and health. There isn't a step we dont take to guarantee the job is done in the best way possible.

Here's a neat little video we got from a hazard removal this last week. 🚧 🪵
We had several Ponderosa Pines that were burnt from the South Fork Fire that we got called out to remove.
With the high winds lately the dead trees have more potential to snap out and become hazards.

With the high winds we have been having it is important to stay aware of your surroundings and keep an eye above you for hazards such as limbs that may be dislodged or may become dislodged. Dead limbs and tree tops are also something to keep an eye on due to the fact they have an easier chance of breaking out during our high winds.

Our teams recently finished a job where we removed multiple White Fir trees and several burnt Ponderosa Pines in the back of Upper Canyon on the edge of the burn scar.
We had to climb and peice out over 12 of the trees to preserve the health and well-being of other surrounding trees and plant life, such as the beautiful oaks all around the property.

When it comes to technical removals and complex felling, we have the skills and experience to take on any job with safety and professionalism.
