The Parable of the Two Roofs and the Promise of Canaan

There was once a town where storms came without warning. The winds howled, the rain beat down, and the roofs of many houses trembled under the weight.
In that town lived two homeowners.
The first said,
“I will wait. The leak is small. The stain on the ceiling is not so bad. Surely it will pass.”
The second said,
“I will prepare my house before the storm grows stronger.”
Now in that same town there was a small, family company called Canaan Roofing. They were not the biggest, nor the loudest. But they worked with integrity, prayed before they labored, and treated each home as if it were their own.
When the second homeowner called, the roof was inspected carefully. Damaged shingles were replaced. Weak decking was strengthened. Every nail was placed with intention. And before they left, they prayed over the home, asking that it stand firm.
Then the storm came.
The winds beat upon both houses.
The rain poured.
The lightning flashed.
The first homeowner’s roof, long ignored, began to fail. Water crept through the attic. Ceilings sagged. Repairs became costly and overwhelming.
But the second homeowner’s roof stood steady. The rain rolled off. The structure held firm. And inside the house, there was peace.
And the people of the town asked,
“Why did this house stand?”
And the answer was this:
Because it was built and restored not only with shingles and nails —
but with diligence, honesty, and faith.
For even as it is written in the Gospel of Matthew 7:24–25:
“The rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”
And so it is with every home entrusted to Canaan Roofing.
For a roof is more than wood and shingles. It is shelter. It is protection. It is peace of mind.
Those who ignore the small warning signs may one day face a great storm unprepared.
But those who build wisely — who repair what is weak and strengthen what is worn — will stand secure when the winds rise.
For a house built on rock will not fall.
And a roof built with faith, integrity, and care will stand when the storm has passed.
And that is the promise of Canaan. 🏠🙏

So God reveals certain revelations to me a little at a time.

He just put something on my mind and heart and I vow to work with Him and allow Him to make this possible! I now need to educate myself on how to make this possible. I have been researching about 501(c)(3). If you don't know what that is, I suggest you look it up to get an idea of what it is. I have always wanted a nonprofit to give back to the community, while giving all glory to God.

Today, it came into perspective for me. I want to operate "Bridges to Canaan". What is "Bridges to Canaan" you ask? Well, what God has put on my mind and heart is a nonprofit that will:
-Provide free roof repairs for widows, veterans, or low-income families
-Disaster relief roofing
-Faith-based housing restoration ministry
-Construction training program for at-risk youth

I know this seems like a huge step from just now rebranding considering that I have mentioned in an earlier post that rebranding is like starting over BUT I truly have faith that God is taking Canaan Roofing to places we have never imagined. Yes, we are taking it one day at a time, yes, it takes patience and yes, work is a bit slower than usual. This only pushes us to give each day to God, ask Him for perfect patience and have faith that He will provide, no matter what!

I am ready to step into the "Promised Land", the land flowing with milk and honey and I love to document our struggles, hardships, trials and tribulations so that I can also testify with our testimonies, triumphs, prosperities and victories, through Christ, leading us, every step of the way.

My family and I are so excited to let God use us for His perfect purpose. We are more than willing to submit ourselves to be a vessel so that He can work through us. I pray He is making a generation of people, like no other, to be the salt of this tasteless world and a lampstand in the darkness!

I pray that me, my family, Canaan Roofing's employees and anyone associated with us, are all included in this generation of tasteful, lightbearers so that we all can make a positive impact within our homes and communities while giving all glory to God. I pray that working through us, allows others to see that what seems impossible can become possible, through The Great I AM.

"Impossible" becomes "I'm possible", all you have to do is allow God to change your perception, add an apostrophe and a space--- you end up with I'm possible because with The Great I AM, nothing is impossible, everything becomes "I'm(I AM) possible"! 🥰✝️🙏💜

Jesus Made Me Rebrand

There comes a moment when everything looks successful on the outside… but your spirit knows there’s more.

For over 25 years, Vince has poured his hands, strength, and knowledge into roofing. Bridges Residential Roofing carried our name, and we carried it with pride. We worked hard. We grew. We provided for our family. And through it all, God was with us every single step.

But if we’re being honest—we hadn’t fully surrendered.

We were believers. We prayed. We thanked Him. Yet we were still running the business in our own strength. Vince relied heavily on his experience, his drive, and his own will. And while that carried us far, it was quietly placing limits on what God wanted to do.
In the Bible, Canaan was the Promised Land—a place God prepared for His people. But they had to trust Him completely to enter it.
We realized we were standing right outside our own “Canaan.”

One day, in a simple but powerful conversation, God spoke clearly:
“It’s not your business. It’s Mine. You are just the operators.”
That was it.
Jesus made us rebrand.
Bridges Residential Roofing represented our name.
Canaan Roofing represents our surrender.

Rebranding isn’t easy. It feels like starting over—changing accounts, paperwork, marketing, telling clients about the new name, rebuilding brand awareness. It’s humbling. But humility was the point.
This business is now God owned, family operated, Christ centered, and Spirit led.
We know now that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And no weapon formed against us or this business shall prosper—because it no longer belongs to us alone.

Our heart is bigger than roofing. One day, it’s our dream to start nonprofits and charities, to donate time, service, and resources to families in need. We want to be blessed so we can be a blessing.

To our customers, friends, and supporters—thank you. Thank you for trusting us through every season. Thank you for walking with us into this new one.

Please pray for our family, our business, and our customers. Pray that we remain humble, wise, hardworking, affordable, honest, and always Christ centered. Pray that we become a pillar of light in this community and that God blesses us so we can bless others.

We want nothing more than His will.

Heavenly Father,

WHAT IF THIS IS YOUR “PROMISED LAND” MOMENT?

There was a time when God’s people stood on the edge of Canaan — the land promised to them. It had been occupied. It looked impossible. Giants were there. Opposition was real.
But God said, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.” — Joshua 1:3
The Israelites didn’t shrink back. They stepped forward in faith and took back what belonged to them.

At Canaan Roofing, we believe homeowners are in a similar battle.
