Sauk Valley Furniture Hub is back in action and getting ready for our next community delivery! 🛋️✨

06/09/2026

Hello everyone!
After some unexpected setbacks and challenges, I'm excited to share that the Sauk Valley Furniture Hub is moving forward again.
Our mission remains simple: helping local families connect with furniture they need while keeping usable items out of landfills. We're taking things one step at a time, focusing on safe, responsible operations and building a strong foundation for the future.
Over the next few weeks, you'll start seeing furniture donations, volunteer opportunities, and project updates posted here. We're currently focusing on quality furniture items and community partnerships as we work toward our first delivery.
If you've supported us before, shared our posts, donated furniture, offered encouragement, or simply followed our journey, thank you. Your support means more than you know.
Please like, follow, and share this page to help us reconnect with the community. If you know someone who may want to donate furniture or get involved, send them our way.
We're back, we're rebuilding, and we're ready to serve our community.

📋 Update from the Sauk Valley Furniture Hub —
We have exciting news on two fronts today.

First — our Founding Board of Directors is officially coming together. We are humbled and grateful to have committed, passionate community members stepping up to help guide this mission from the ground floor. More details to come as we finalize everything officially.

Second — our business plan is currently being reviewed by a respected member of our community whose investment in the Sauk Valley speaks for itself. This has pushed our filing back by one week — and we couldn't be more grateful for that.

Because when someone of that caliber takes time to pour into what you're building — you slow down and you listen.

We are doing this right. Not fast. Right.
Stay with us. The best is coming.

The Sauk Valley Furniture Hub is a brand new nonprofit launching right here in Sterling-Rock Falls with one mission — making sure no family in our community has to move into an empty home.
We deliver donated furniture FREE of charge to families transitioning out of homelessness, domestic violence, unstable housing and more. Through trusted partner agencies we make sure every delivery goes to someone who truly needs it.
We are currently building our Founding Board of Directors and looking for passionate community members with backgrounds in:
💰 Finance or Accounting
⚖️ Legal or Nonprofit Law
🏥 Social Work or Healthcare
📣 Marketing or Communications
🏗️ Logistics, Operations or Trades
🤝 Community Outreach or Faith Leadership
💼 Business Ownership or Management
You don't need a perfect resume.
You need integrity, commitment, and a heart for this community.
Being a founding board member means your name is attached to something that will serve the Sauk Valley for generations. You get in on the ground floor of something real.
This is your community. This is your chance to shape how we take care of it.
If you're interested or know someone who should be — please reach out directly and SHARE this post everywhere.

With Caring Center – I just got recognized as one of their top fans! 🎉

💚 I don't usually share this publicly. But if it helps somebody — it's worth it.
I've been where the families we're trying to serve have been.
I lived at the YWCA. I moved into my first apartment with nothing. No bed. No couch. No table. Just a key and four empty walls.
I remember that feeling. That mix of gratitude and emptiness at the same time. Grateful to have a place. But walking into nothing and wondering how you're supposed to make it feel like home.
Nobody helped me with that part.
And I never forgot it.
Years later I'm still in this community. Still watching families go through the exact same thing. Still seeing people get their first place and have nothing to put in it.
So I decided to do something about it.
Not because I have it all figured out. Not because I have unlimited resources. But because I know exactly what it feels like — and nobody should have to feel that alone.
That's the Sauk Valley Furniture Hub.
Built from experience. Driven by purpose. Rooted in this community.
We're still growing. But we're coming.

🚛 Things are moving — literally. Today the Sauk Valley Furniture Hub added another key piece to our foundation. A dedicated driver with a truck and trailer has joined our team and will be stepping into a leadership role on our founding board. This is what building looks like. One conversation at a time. One committed person at a time. We're not open yet — but every day we get closer. 🚚💨👏💪
