During this siding project, we discovered something important: the home had Thermo-Ply insulating fiberboard, but NO insulation underneath.

And we’re taking this exterior transformation a step further—we’re also replacing the windows to give the home a complete upgrade in both appearance and performance. 🪟🔨

Would you replace your metal roof... or restore it? 🤔

Most homeowners think peeling paint means it's time for a new roof. In many cases, that's simply not true.

This metal roof in Deltaville, VA, near the Rappahannock River, had one major issue: the coating was failing. The roof itself was still in good condition, making it a great candidate for restoration.

Here's what it took to bring it back to life:
✔️ Thorough power washing to remove dirt and loose paint
✔️ Wire brushing and treating rusted areas
✔️ 2 coats of Sherwin-Williams Kem Bond Primer for superior adhesion and corrosion protection
✔️ 2 coats of Sherwin-Williams Bond-Plex for a durable, long-lasting finish

Of course, every project has its challenges. This home was an Airbnb, so we had a limited window to complete the work between guest stays. Add in the extreme June heat and the unpredictable rain showers coming off the river, and every day required careful planning.

The biggest takeaway? A quality paint job is only as good as the preparation. Skipping surface prep or using the wrong products may look good for a few months, but it won't last. Taking the time to do it right protects your investment and can extend the life of your metal roof for years.
