Modifications were made to the setup to mitigate slab settling and wall collapse onto the pool. Effective block retaining walls can be constructed without failure by incorporating appropriate materials, drainage, and geogrid behind the wall. Unfortunately, such measures would have been necessary before the slab was laid. The original construction was completed just three years ago for the homeowners.
