It's Fleet Friday & Labor Day Weekend!

We're closed today, but as always we keep moving to get the job done. Both Nate Green Trucking and the Ge**er crew were on site this morning working on the Evart water main project. They partnered with the Hayes team, running a mill to remove the asphalt surface — and it turned out to be an ideal day for it. Project Manager Justin Erbes explained that cool, damp weather actually improves conditions for asphalt removal.

Trucks ran all morning, clearing several blocks of asphalt. These guys work hard and know their craft across every skill set on the crew.

Happy Labor Day — from Ge**er Construction and the Nate Green Trucking crews, who know a thing or two about labor themselves.

Congrats to the Biggby Coffee - 4843 220th Avenue, Reed City, MI 49677 team on the grand opening today! ☕🚧

We're proud and excited to see the doors open at the new Biggby Coffee here in Reed City! We were glad to play a part in the concrete work that helped bring this build to life.

There's something special about watching a project go from raw concrete to a bustling local coffee shop full of neighbors grabbing their morning brew. Reed City keeps growing, and we're honored to be part of building it — one project, one cup of coffee at a time.

Fleet Friday: Meet Ryan Morris

This week's Fleet Friday spotlight is on Ryan Morris, one of the mechanics keeping our equipment running across the Ge**er and Nate Green Trucking fleet — skid steers, excavators, and everything in between.

Ryan's been with the team for about five months now, but he's no stranger to the work — he actually worked for our own Bill Terryn for about five years before joining us, plus operated his own mobile mechanic business.

These days he's on the road three days a week: keeping equipment going outside the garage, making the trip to Norton Shores where the crew can't afford downtime hauling gear back to the shop, and equipping job sites.

As the only one on the team doing that traveling maintenance work, Ryan's become the go-to guy for keeping equipment running right where it's needed — without missing a beat.

After years of unpredictable mobile mechanic work — "turn dinner on and the phone rings" — Ryan says having a set schedule has been a welcome change. He's local too!

Justin Erbes, Project Manager

With 26 years of site and civil construction experience, Justin brings a wealth of knowledge to every project — including more than 12 years supervising and managing large-scale municipal and civil work.

Justin has been part of the Ge**er Construction team for 10 years, helping keep complex projects moving through strong coordination, disciplined ex*****on, and a focus on doing the job right.

His connection to the area extends well beyond the job site. Justin has deep roots in the community and is pictured here with his kids during this year’s Osceola County Fair and their involvement in 4-H.

We’re proud to have Justin’s experience, leadership, and commitment to the community on the Ge**er team.

At the end of the day, our top job is making sure everyone goes home safe. That’s why PM Kitt is dropping quick weekly tips straight from our site training. 👷‍♂️✨ Every week our PM Kitt Jarzabowski gives a brief tip or training on safety.

This week’s tip: Power Locking (or Lock Out / Tag Out)

Trapped electricity and jammed machine parts don’t give warnings. If you’re clearing a jam or servicing equipment, don’t rely on verbal promises.

The 3-Step Rule:

1. LOCK IT: Put your padlock on the power source.
2. TAG IT: Put your name on the lock.
3. TEST IT: Hit the start button to prove it’s dead before reaching in.

There’s nothing quite like the back-to-school energy on campus! 📚🏫

Our team is currently at Ferris State University replacing concrete to resolve drainage issues right at the entrance of Cramer Hall, making sure everything is safe and ready for returning students.

We even ran into a familiar face—Ge**er alum Austin, who is now part of the Ferris team!
