This past summer was a good one for us. Our crews stayed busy on fire lines across Oregon. Now that we’re back home, we’ve hit the ground running here in Central Oregon.

The past few weeks have been full of excavation, grading, deck remodels, plus projects for local GCs, homeowners, and landowners. Behind the scenes, we’ve been improving our yard, setting up the shop, adding storage containers, plus adding more trucks to the fleet to keep up with the work.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support us and trust our crew with their projects.

Currently serving Central Oregon with:

• Excavation & Grading
• Site Development & Utilities
• Fencing
• Fire Fuel Mitigation & Fire Rehab
• Residential Construction
• Light Commercial

Have a project coming up? Give us a call. We’d appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.

As someone who’s grown up in Central Oregon, I’ve seen firsthand what wildfire can do to our forests, our homes, and our communities. Helping landowners prepare before fire season isn’t just another service we offer—it’s something we genuinely care about.

Helping Central Oregon landowners create defensible space to better safeguard their homes, families, and property.

First retaining wall of the season is officially underway, and I don’t think any of us could be more excited to be stacking block again. 💪

There’s just something about building a wall from the ground up that’s hard to beat. Every block, every lift of gravel, every load of dirt moved gets us one step closer to creating something that’ll be standing for decades.

This year we’ve got an awesome crew behind us, more experience under our belts, and we’ve continued investing in training and certifications so we can keep giving our clients the best product possible. It’s been fun watching everyone continue to grow in their trade, and we’re just getting started.

To our clients—thank you for trusting us with your properties. To our crew—thank you for showing up every day ready to work hard and take pride in what you’re building and willingness to learn. None of this happens without all of you.
Here’s to another season of moving dirt, building walls, making memories, and enjoying some of the best views Central Oregon has to offer. Let’s get after it! 🇺🇸🚜

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Today isn’t just about firing up the BBQ, cracking open a cold b**r, or watching fireworks light up the sky.

It’s about remembering why we’re able to do those things in the first place.

Two hundred fifty years ago, ordinary men made an extraordinary decision. They stood against tyranny, risked everything they had, and fought to build a nation founded on liberty, individual freedom, and the belief that government answers to the people—not the other way around.

Since then, generation after generation of American service members have answered the call to defend those freedoms. From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan, countless men and women have sacrificed so that Old Glory could continue to fly.

Freedom has never been free.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let’s take a moment to remember those who came before us, thank those who continue to serve today, and make sure we’re doing our part to preserve the freedoms that were entrusted to us.

From our family at Sutherland Independent Contracting Inc., we wish everyone a safe and blessed Independence Day.

God Bless America. God bless our servicemen and women. And God bless the patriots who had the courage to build the greatest nation the world has ever known. 🇺🇸🍻

This one means a lot to us.
It came from the homeowner on a remodel where we were hired by the GC to handle the excavation.
Around here, we believe when a GC brings us onto one of their jobs, we’re representing more than just Sutherland Independent Contracting—we’re representing their reputation too. That’s something we don’t take lightly.
Our job isn’t just to move dirt. It’s to show up on time, work hard, treat every property with respect, communicate honestly, and leave both the contractor and the homeowner feeling confident they made the right call.
We’re grateful to every GC who puts their trust in us.
