If you design for aesthetics only, without considering how that all fits with construction, budget, timeline, and how people will use and care for the space, then it doesn’t matter how beautiful a space is, it will not fit the purpose 🧐. How people will live and use the space over time is so important to design. Anyone can create a pretty space. But creating a space that will last the test of time is an art.

I walked away from flipping houses — and a lot of money — to take on this.
30 acres. 4 buildings. Nearly 10 years abandoned.
I don’t know exactly how we will@manage to pull this off…But I know this. This is more than just another real estate project.
I know in my heart this community will change the lives of many. …

I know what this room cost. Not in dollars — in demo, plumbing rough-in, days of getting the tile layout right, and a towel warmer that showed up late enough to ruin a schedule.
I’d do it again. And so would my client. Because you don’t romanticize your life in the formal dining room you use twice a year. You do it here. At 6am. Half awake. Barefoot.
The little things stop being little when you meet them every single day. What a blessing to be able to wake up to a space you love 🥰

This…and understanding what success really means. Building something takes everything — but so does knowing when to pause 😍. This is me learning that rest isn’t the opposite of ambition, it’s part of it. 🧡

Nobody “NEEDS” extra entertainment space or a basement remodel. Of course not. But we all want the friend gatherings. The laughter. The memories. This is what life is about, isnt it?! ❤️
