We’re excited to welcome Growing Greenlund to this year’s event!

Mikayla will be offering:

🌼 Edible flowers available for purchase
🐝 Interactive bee-themed activities for kids, including honeycomb exploration
🌿 Pollinator-friendly perennial plants for sale to help you start your own pollinator garden

She’ll also be providing educational materials and resources for our Common Ground community table.

If you’re looking to add more blooms for butterflies and bees to your garden, or want to learn more about supporting pollinators, be sure to stop by her booth and see what she has available.

🦋 Butterflies at Black Rock Community Spotlight 🦋

We’re excited to have Common Ground joining us at this year’s Butterfly Event!

Stop by their table to learn about their mission and take part in a fun Native Plant Scavenger Hunt designed just for kids. Young explorers can search for native plants throughout the event and earn bookmarks and stickers for completing the challenge.

Common Ground will also be sharing information about the importance of native plants, pollinators, and creating healthier habitats right here in our community.

It’s a great opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with a local group making a positive impact in Schuylkill County. 🌿🦋

Looking back at these photos from last year’s Butterflies at Black Rock has me even more excited for this year’s event. 🦋

What started as a simple idea turned into an afternoon filled with smiles, creativity, learning, and so many wonderful families enjoying nature together. From meeting butterflies up close to face painting, crafts, and exploring all the activities, it was incredible to see our community come together.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us last year and helped make it such a special day.

We’re excited to do it all again on July 12 and create even more memories with new and familiar faces. Whether you joined us last year or this will be your first time, we can’t wait to see you there.

🛍️ Local makers, artists, vendors, and community organizations
🌿 Opportunities to learn about nature, pollinators, and local resources

Whether your little ones want to see butterflies up close, get their face painted, create a nature craft, or you simply want to spend a relaxing afternoon supporting local businesses and enjoying time with family, there will be something for everyone.

Black Rock Brewing Company will have food and drinks available for purchase throughout the event.

What a crazy couple of weeks it’s been!

My oldest graduated from high school, I’ve been busy with markets at Vintage 61, planning Butterflies at Black Rock, and now getting ready for another event with Schuylkill Connects.

It’s been a whirlwind, but I’m so excited for what’s coming next.

I’m finally getting ready to share the full Butterflies at Black Rock lineup, and I can’t wait for you to see who’s joining us this year.
