Lawn out, living sanctuary in! 🌿✨

We transformed a high-water, thirsty lawn in Sunnyvale into a vibrant, climate-smart landscape designed to thrive year-round.

The star of the show? A functional dry creek bed that captures stormwater during winter rains, storing moisture deep in the soil so roots can tap into it during hot summer months. 🌧️➡️☀️

We filled the surrounding garden with a mix of colorful Mediterranean-adapted species and California native plants, creating a lush, low-maintenance haven packed with texture and seasonal color. Best of all, it’s already drawing in local birds, bees, and butterflies! 🐝🦋🐦

Transforming lawns into vibrant, water-wise havens! 🌿✨

When these homeowners asked to ditch their high-water grass, they had three clear priorities: thoughtful plant combinations, year-round color and variety, and minimal maintenance.

We replaced thirsty turf with a climate-adapted palette packed with texture, rich hues, and soft movements—giving the curb appeal a major upgrade while keeping water use to a minimum.

And for the finishing touch? Customized outdoor lighting. High impact by day, pure magic by night. 🌙✨

It’s hard to believe this is the same backyard! Painting the fence and retaining wall was the biggest game-changer.
This, combined with a new pergola and thoughtful planting, completely transformed the space without a massive demolition budget. The effect is massive!

🍋Edible landscaping is possible even in the tiniest spaces. Can you spot the fruits in this design?
💛A potted lime tree has been added in the sunnier spot and close to the home. Being in a pot allows us to move it closer to a wall when the colder days arrive.
A blueberry shrub is potted next to the lime tree, taking advantage of the shade in the afternoon. 💜
Functional and practical, we've created the perfect area to relax once you arrive home and complement it with this family passion to grow food.
