TINY CLASSSSSSS!!!! HOW ARE YOUUU!! Hey....soooooo I found out yesterday that only a very small handful of women...like less than 5 have signed up for the Tradeswomen Leadership conference that we are putting on in September. I was like....WHAT????!!!??? Why has your class not signed up for it??? It provides some GREAT workshops and information!!! You do not have to "feel" like a "leader" to attend and if you think you are not a leader...you are wrong!! You are leading this movement each and every day you get out of bed and head to work. Please encourage yourself to go. If you feel like you don't belong there (for whatever reason)...pm me and tell me what's up. If you cant afford it...PM me...we have scholarships. Is there someone in this class that is willing to work with Tiffany to get more women interested in this conference. We need some help recruiting for it. Please let me know if you can help out.

On Monday May 4th we will have City of Portland here from 5:30-6:30 to discuss two upcoming positions with the city that have not yet opened. They want to prep women so they are prepared when they do open up. The positions being discussed are the Facilities Maintenance Technician Apprentice, and a Utility Worker position through the water bureau. The HR department will be here to teach you how to navigate the online application system and give you tips on what they are looking for in your cover letters and resumes. There will also be trades women here that are doing those jobs to discuss the in's and out's of the job. Once these jobs open up you must apply quickly before they reach capacity. They will pull off the list that gets generated for a year or more. If you want to work for the City....come Monday night from 5:30-6:30 in the OTI basement classroom to learn how to be the best candidate. Email me if you have any questions [email protected]

This was me today at work (break) the company provided all hand tools I needed. The guys I'm working with are super nice and are helping me a lot. First day in, let's see how it goes tomorrow! :D
