More from our recent NW PDX backyard project.

Everything you see here is a new feature for outdoor living at it's best-including a covered patio, raised hot rub deck, retaining walls, landscaping and a no-mow eco-lawn.

Our client .allbright's backyard oasis is bringing all the feels! So much color and texture, even in late August.

Kelly asked for a colorful garden full of texture and plants for the three B's-birds, bees and butterflies. We think we nailed it!

We love creating outdoor spaces our clients want to share their with the world!

The best projects start with connection and we wouldn't want it any other way.

We work hard to win the trust of every client we work with.

It starts with a discovery call, followed by an hour-long consultation, then thoughtful time developing a proposal that reflects your goals, your property and what you’re looking for.

Because the right fit matters, and you deserve a landscape designer who feels like the right fit for you, too.

Loving the mediterranean vibes at the home of .equine.by.design.

It's been three years since installation and every year it looks better and better!

This cozy patio proves that even a compact outdoor space can become a beautiful retreat.

Layered containers, vibrant seasonal color, comfortable seating, and a little shade create an inviting place to relax, read, entertain, or simply enjoy a summer evening.

The best outdoor spaces aren't always the biggest—they're the ones that make you want to stay awhile.

Heat Wave Watering Advice!

HEATWAVE WATERING TIPS FOR PORTLAND AREA GARDENERS

The first heatwave of 2026 is heading our way this weekend, and while we’ve seen some recent rain, you’ll still need to check your plants when the temperature spikes!

Potted plants are a priority. They dry out faster than plants in the ground and may need to be watered more than once every day in high temp situations. It can also be helpful to move smaller containers into shaded areas for the duration of the heatwave. Hanging baskets and containers of annuals lose a lot of their nutrients with increased watering, so it’s a good idea to fertilize after a heatwave is over.

Newly installed plants are more susceptible to heat stress and should also be a priority—this includes plants considered to be drought tolerant. Even drought-tolerant plants need water while they’re getting established.

Mulching will help regulate soil temperature and moisture.

As noted above, we’ve had some recent rain, but if your plants need a drink, be sure to water deeply before the heat arrives. If you wait until the high temps hit, you’re putting your plants at a disadvantage. Again, this is especially true for potted and newly installed plants.

Watering in the early morning or in the evening is best. This will decrease evaporation and help conserve water.

Sprinklers are better than nothing, but slow, deep watering at the base of the plant is ideal. Drip irrigation and soaker hoses are great options that will save water too! Tree bags are also an option for newly planted trees, but you don’t want to leave them in place for extended periods of time. Regardless of which method you choose, don’t forget to water the entire root zone.

Stay safe and stay cool this weekend!
