Why choose thermally treated wood siding?
Heat treatment gives wood a rich, warm tone while helping it resist rot, pests, and moisture movement—without chemical preservatives. It’s a way to get the character of natural wood with siding that stays more stable through seasonal changes.
A few things to plan for: it can be more prone to splitting during installation, and sunlight will turn it silver-gray unless you maintain a UV-protective finish. It’s also typically more expensive than standard treated pine.
Would you keep the deep brown finish or let it weather naturally?
