From the archives. 🔨

Someone suggested glass blocks for our home renovation, and it reminded us of the time Blake tried to save the entire glass block room divider from Typhon Group’s Metairie office renovation. He painstakingly hauled every single block home, just for Bridget to say “get rid of them.” 🤣😅

We removed the glass block wall to build out their new kitchen. We also added a bathroom, and the whole space works much better for their team now. Swipe to see the before and after 👉

Home Renovation Series, Episode 2! 🔨

After discovering white hexagon tiles under the old floor, we’ve got a real decision to make now.

The original plan was to remove the privacy wall and square out the corner to fit a bigger vanity. But we had to check if the original floors extend underneath the privacy wall first.

Spoiler Alert: I truly thought it did for a second and got my hopes up for nothing. 😩

So now I’m stuck between two options:

1. Play it safe, keep the wall and go with a smaller vanity.

2. Take the risk, try to match 46-year-old grout, and get the bigger vanity.

What would you do? Let me know in the comments because I’m indecisive and hate having to change plans. 👇

Okay, you asked, so here’s (some of) the plan! 🔨

We’re closing in our carport, turning it into a playroom, and connecting it to the house. The kitchen is getting new backsplash and a pantry. The living room is getting built-ins. The hallway is getting an accent wall. And both bathrooms are getting a full redo.

This is only a portion of what we’re taking on, and we can’t wait! I’ll be sharing the whole journey once a week. The good parts, the messy parts, and the parts where I have to call Blake in to fix my DIY’s 😆

Follow along so you don’t miss a thing!

Project update from the Harahan Senior Center! 🔨

Our team installed new trim in both restrooms, added stained wood doors with etched glass and lettering, and gave the stalls in each restroom a fresh coat of primer and paint. We got it done just in time for their candidate meet and greet event, which was a great success!

We're closing in on the finish line with just a few items left to go. Until then, swipe through to see our progress!
