Here we go, another project getting started!
This one has a lot of potential, and we’re excited to bring it back to life from the inside out. There’s plenty of work ahead, but that’s the fun part.
Can’t wait to restore this home, clean up the exterior, and show you the transformation as it comes together.

Busy is a good problem to have.
The SS Remodels crew has been moving from job to job, keeping projects pushing forward and making progress every day. Drywall, finishing, sanding, prep, a lot of the work that happens before the pretty final pictures.
We’re grateful to stay busy, grateful for the homeowners trusting us with their projects, and proud of the crew for continuing to put in the work.

Your budget. Your vision. Let’s find a way to make it work.

Not every project fits perfectly into a contractor’s standard box.

This homeowner is converting this space so his mother can move in with him rather than having to move into a retirement home.

He had already talked with a few contractors and had been turned down. Part of his plan was using cabinets and other materials he found at ReStore to help keep the project within a budget that made sense.

And for us, that wasn’t a reason to say no.

Does it mean we have to get a little creative sometimes? Absolutely. There are pieces we have to work around, things that won’t fit perfectly, and places where we may have to compromise.

But that’s part of working with people.

Our job isn’t always to walk in and tell you everything has to be brand new or that your project has to fit exactly how we normally do things.

Sometimes our job is to listen to what you’re trying to accomplish, understand why it matters, and figure out how we can make it work.

This one means a little more than just another remodel.

We’re helping make a home for Mom.

Drywall is up and this basement is starting to look like a real living space instead of a construction zone.
Walls are defined, the layout is easier to picture, and the next phase is where the character really starts showing up.
A lot of progress packed into a few sheets of drywall.

Before drywall goes up, this is where a lot of the important work happens. With framing, insulation, electrical, layout, and making sure everything is ready to be closed in correctly.
It may not look finished yet, but this is where a solid finished space starts.

There’s something special about working on homes in historic Platte City.

When remodeling a porch in a historic neighborhood, the challenge isn’t just building something new. It’s preserving the character that makes the home and community unique.

The result is a porch that feels like it has always belonged to the home while providing the durability, functionality, and comfort expected today.

Every detail was considered to maintain the charm of the original architecture while giving the homeowners an updated outdoor space they can enjoy for years to come.

Projects like this remind us that great remodeling isn’t about erasing history, it’s about honoring it while preparing it for the future.

What do you think? Did we strike the right balance between historic charm and modern living?
