👀 SNEAK PEEK — This one is really starting to come together!

We’ve been putting in some serious work on this property, and the transformation is already taking shape.

What started as a major tear-out and blank slate is being rebuilt from the ground up — including a completely redesigned front landscape and walkway, new stone beds and plantings, extensive grading, and now a large backyard paver patio with retaining wall and step work.

The backyard is still a work in progress, but we couldn’t wait to share a look at how far it’s come. The patio is taking shape, the wall and steps are in, and once the remaining details, grading, and lawn restoration are finished, this is going to be a completely different property.

A lot of planning, excavation, base work, elevations, cutting, and craftsmanship has gone into this project — and I’m proud of the work our crew has put in every step of the way.

Stay tuned for the finished reveal and the full before & after. 👀

Another one wrapped up by Cook’s Landscape Design! 🌿🪨

This was a challenging hillside project from start to finish, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together.

We transformed this steep grade with a natural stone staircase, large boulder accents, new landscaping, and finished it off with a stone-lined drainage swale designed to control runoff and help prevent future washouts.

✔️ Natural stone staircase
✔️ Large boulder installation
✔️ Hillside grading
✔️ River rock drainage swale
✔️ Erosion & runoff control
✔️ Landscape restoration

I also want to give a huge shoutout to my crew on this one. These guys put in some serious work. Between moving stone, setting massive boulders, working the grade, building the staircase, and coming back to make sure the drainage was handled correctly, this project took a lot of physical work and attention to detail.

I may be the one posting the finished pictures, but these projects don’t happen without the guys behind the scenes putting in the work every day. I appreciate my crew and the pride they take in what we build. 💪

The goal is always bigger than making something look good—we want our installations to function properly and hold up for years to come.

Another project we’re proud to put the Cook’s Landscape Design name on.

📆 We still have a few openings available for upcoming projects. If you have a landscaping, drainage, retaining wall, or hardscape project you’ve been thinking about, reach out and let’s get it on the schedule!

🌱 Another Lawn Transformation Complete!

This front lawn needed a complete refresh, and the difference speaks for itself.

We started by removing the existing worn-out lawn, properly preparing and regrading the area, bringing in fresh screened topsoil, and installing new sod throughout the entire front yard.

The result is an instant transformation — clean edges, fresh green turf, and a completely new look for the front of the home. 👌

We’re currently filling a few remaining spots on our schedule for:
• Sod & lawn renovations
• Grading & drainage
• Retaining walls & boulder work
• Patios & walkways
• Landscape installations

What a transformation! 🔥

This project started with a failing brick retaining wall, aging concrete steps, and a hillside that needed a complete redesign.

We tore out the old structure and rebuilt the entire area with a more natural look that fits the property:

• Natural sandstone staircase with multiple landings
• Large natural boulder retaining/outcropping system
• Complete hillside excavation and regrading
• Major underground drainage improvements
• New landscape beds and fresh black mulch
• Lawn restoration throughout the disturbed areas
• Natural sandstone transitions tying the new staircase into the existing walk

There was a lot happening underneath this project that you don’t see in the finished pictures. Proper excavation, base preparation, drainage work and grading were just as important as what you see on the surface.

The goal was to turn a deteriorating, dated entrance into something that looked like it belonged naturally in the hillside — while improving the function and stability of the entire area.

We’re extremely happy with how this one came together. Once that newly restored lawn fills in, it’s going to look even better.

This one has turned into quite the transformation! 👀

What started as a failing entry and retaining wall has developed into a complete outdoor overhaul — natural boulder retaining, a custom natural stone staircase, major grading, a new underground drainage system, and full lawn restoration.

We’re getting close to wrapping this one up. A few finishing touches left, including the landing and mulch, and then we’ll be ready for the final reveal.

Really proud of how this natural stone staircase flows through the boulders and ties the upper yard back into the driveway.

Stay tuned for the finished transformation!

Another hillside transformation wrapped up by Cook’s Landscape Design LLC 🌿🪨

This area started as a tired, overgrown slope that needed a cleaner look and better definition. We opened everything up and gave the hillside a simple, natural design that works with the existing mature trees and ties into the landscaping near the driveway.

✅ Complete hillside cleanup & bed preparation
✅ Fresh premium mulch throughout
✅ Natural stone/boulder border along the roadway
✅ Boulder line curved naturally around the mailbox area
✅ Clean transition into the existing landscape beds
✅ Final grading, edging & cleanup

Sometimes you don’t need to overcrowd a landscape with plants. The natural stone, fresh mulch, mature trees and clean lines completely changed the appearance of this property while keeping it simple and low-maintenance.

Another transformation completed by Cook’s Landscape Design LLC 🌿🪨

This property had an aging, failing retaining wall that was ready for a complete overhaul. We removed the existing wall, reshaped the area, and rebuilt it using natural stone to create a stronger, more attractive wall that fits the character of the property.

✔️ Existing wall removed
✔️ Excavation & grading
✔️ Natural stone retaining wall installation
✔️ Existing landscaping preserved where possible
✔️ Lawn areas repaired, seeded & strawed
✔️ Final grading & cleanup

The natural stone completely changed the look of this side yard while giving the homeowner a much more functional and long-lasting solution.

You have to see the BEFORE on this one. 👀🌿

This property received a full landscape transformation, and the difference from where we started is incredible.

We worked with the existing property to create a cleaner, more intentional landscape that complements this beautiful brick home.

✔️ Complete landscape renovation & bed preparation
✔️ Natural boulder retaining wall installation
✔️ New retaining wall construction & cap installation
✔️ Premium plant installation
✔️ Decorative river rock borders
✔️ Fresh mulch throughout the landscape beds
✔️ Grading & lawn restoration
✔️ Custom landscape lighting installation
✔️ Custom pillar construction

One of our favorite parts of this project is how the natural boulder work, plantings, stone borders and hardscape elements all tie together while still fitting the character of the property.

🌿 Finishing Touches Make All the Difference!

We came back to put the finishing touches on this retaining wall transformation with a fresh, low-maintenance landscape installation.

The goal was simple: add color and texture without overcrowding the space or taking attention away from the new wall.

We incorporated a carefully selected mix of shrubs, flowering perennials and ornamental grasses, worked around the natural stone accents, and finished both beds with fresh dark brown mulch.

As these plants establish and mature, they’ll continue to fill out while keeping the entrance clean, balanced and easy to maintain.

Sometimes you don’t need to fill every inch of a landscape bed—a few well-placed plants can completely finish a space.

🚧 HILLSIDE TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS 🚧

This project started as a plain, difficult-to-maintain hillside and is now being transformed with a custom natural boulder installation designed to follow the existing grade and complement the property.

The boulder work is now taking shape, with planting, mulch, lawn restoration, and final detailing still to come.

A lot of careful excavation, grading, stone selection, and machine work went into creating this natural layout.

Stay tuned for the finished reveal — this one is going to be a major transformation.
