We had a blast — did you miss it? 👀

Take a look back at one of the most memorable events of the year: the demolition of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)’s I-376 Commercial Street Bridge, followed by the massive bridge slide.

A perfectly controlled implosion takes some serious planning, precision and teamwork. Watching it all come together was pretty impressive.

And yes… we’re still talking about it.

• Minimum of 3 years of crane operating experience
• Experience operating lattice boom crawlers and hydraulic boom cranes
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Basic equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance skills
• A strong commitment to job site safety
• Flexibility to work Saturdays as needed

Fort Pitt Bridge Rehabilitation Demo
For 79 years, Fay has helped keep Pittsburgh moving, supporting some of the city’s most recognizable infrastructure, including the Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel rehabilitation completed in 2002–2003.

As a subcontractor to PJ Dick, Trumbull and Lindy Group, Fay supported the final phase of this highly visible project, which was among the most high-profile transportation efforts in Pittsburgh at the time. The work included the complete removal of the 41-span elevated Parkway East Viaduct, along with the inbound and outbound bridge decks and approach ramps.

With the region watching, crews worked around the clock, seven days a week during the project’s first phase. Their effort paid off: the inbound deck removal was completed in just 19 days, three days ahead of schedule.

More than 20 years later, this project is a great example of what successful demolition takes: careful planning, precise ex*****on, and close coordination between project partners. As a trusted demolition contractor, Fay works alongside owners, contractors and industry partners to develop safe, efficient solutions and deliver complex demolition work with confidence.

That same approach continues to define Fay today — bringing experienced people, proven expertise and a strong commitment to safety to every project we take on.

🍂 It’s officially fall, so it only seems logical to talk about safety. Can you guess why?
Slips, trips and falls are among the biggest hazards on a jobsite. See what we did there? 👀

According to data from the CDC, falls are the leading cause of work-related deaths in construction, making it especially important to stay alert to the hazards that can lead to a slip, trip or fall.

A few simple ways to help prevent them:
•Keep work areas, walkways and stairs clear of debris and clutter.
• Clean up spills and address slippery surfaces promptly.
• Watch your footing around uneven surfaces, mud and changing conditions.
• Use handrails and maintain three points of contact when climbing.
• Inspect ladders before use and make sure, they’re positioned on a stable surface.
• Use the appropriate fall protection when working at height.
• Take a moment to identify hazards before they become incidents.

Fall may be the season, but falls shouldn’t be part of the job.
Stay alert. Watch your step. Work safely.

At Fay, our drivers help keep heavy civil projects moving by transporting materials, equipment, and machinery to and from active job sites and working alongside the crews building major infrastructure across the Hampton Roads region.

We’re looking for an experienced, dependable CDL Driver who takes pride in doing the job safely and getting it done right.

What you’ll bring:
- Valid CDL Class A or B license — Class A preferred
- Tanker endorsement
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience in construction
- Experience hauling heavy construction equipment preferred
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA requirements
- Ability to safely maneuver vehicles in active, tight jobsite conditions
- Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional weekends

Experience with bridge or highway projects, Hazmat, or OSHA 10/30 is a plus.
