Old plaster walls and worried what adding extra outlets might entail in holes and Labor costs? Though pulling ("fishing") wire through walls is usually the first choice for electricians and homeowners when circuitry must be brought to place of needed and desired locations, above-baseboard moulding is a good Plan B. In fact, a great option when accessibility issues within old walls themselves just present too many obstacles horizontal and otherwise. (Financial as well!)
VMO has installed moulding in such cases on upper floors, for example, in some of the fanciest homes in old grand neighborhoods of the North Side like Allegheny West. Despite initial reservation, all customers have been extremely pleased with the results.
The circuit comes out of the hole where a junction box for existing outlet already sits in the wall. Its safe, to code, and the final look is clean and polished and can be painted any color beyond original ivory.
