Not all rodents are built the same! Knowing whether you're dealing with mice or rats helps us create the most effective control plan for your property. Here's how to tell them apart.

House mice are small, typically around 2 to 4 inches long, with large ears and long, thin, hairy tails. They tend to be extremely curious, constantly nibbling, and bold explorers of new spaces.

Norway rats, which are common in urban and suburban Pennsylvania, are much larger, ranging from 7 to 10+ inches long. They have smaller ears and thick, scaly tails that are shorter than their body length. Unlike mice, they're very cautious of new objects, but they're heavy chewers and strong burrowers.

Either way, neither belongs in your pantry!
