Tech before me added 3 lbs too much refrigerant before condemning the TXV and quoting the homeowner to replace the metering device and dryer.

I came out for a second opinion and found the issue in the first 5 minutes.

Homeowner said:
"You're the first person to look under there."

First thing to check with a frozen coil: airflow before charge.

Cleaned the coil, recovered the excess refrigerant — system running like new. ⚙️

How I Make 100% Leak-Free Ductwork Connections

Most installers rely on nothing more than a zip tie to secure flex duct to the collar.
It’s fast — but it leaks, wastes energy, and costs homeowners money in the long run.

That’s not how I work.

Every connection I make is sealed air-tight using only:

🧱 Mastic sealant — brushed on thick to bond the inner liner to the metal collar

✨ Metalized duct tape — wrapped clean and tight to lock the connection and v***r barrier in place
