Everyone has that one pull they want to forget. This was ours. Wrong wire in the wrong pipe on a big apartment complex job. The guys were thrilled about pulling it back out.

Drilling out a house is not just picking up a drill and going to work.
Before a single hole gets made the guy drilling has to know every circuit, every route, every power jumper, and where every wire is going. It all has to be mapped out before the drill ever spins.
Per code, holes have to be drilled a minimum of 1 1/4" from the edge of the stud to protect against drywall screws. When that is not possible a nail plate goes on to protect the wire.

50 plex rough in complete.
Rough in done. Microduct organized. Stairwell cleaned. Panel paint covers on. Wires pulled straight. Floors cleaned. No scraps left behind. Not a single missed wire!

Ground rod showing voltage. Not something you see every day.
Turns out the ground rod got driven right through one of the wires. The tick tracer confirmed it. A good reminder that sometimes the most unexpected things happen on a job and you have to stop and figure out why before moving on.

Casing is hot. Ground is off. Watch what happens when it touches back.
This is exactly why grounding exists.

Measure. Center. Secure.
Measuring everything out, getting the box centered, and making sure it is hung right. Fan rated boxes are designed to hold a specific amount of weight and the hardware has to match. Get it right the first time so the fan does not end up on the floor.

Laser out. Measuring done. First mark lands right on a truss.
No problem. Moved the cans closer to the countertop and kept moving. That is just part of the job. The laser makes sure everything that goes up is perfectly straight and makes the whole process go a lot smoother.

Every kitchen island starts with getting the measurements right.
Before anything goes up the layout has to be dialed in. A little time upfront makes everything else fall into place perfectly.
