After the unusually heavy rainfall recently, many roofs needed repair or replacement due to either the damage created by the rain or wind, but one roof
collapse was caused by a serious build up of twigs, leaves, and other organic material from a tree over the home.

You may be unfamiliar with the term valleys- this is where 2 sections of the roof meet. Valleys are high traffic areas for water drainage, and it is critical that they are kept free of debris to prevent the blockage of water flow that will lead to leaks, mold, and serious damage to the underlayment, shingles/tile, and eventually cause interior and structural damage to your home.

In this case, debris accumulated by an overhanging tree blocked the valleys so significantly that the roof collapsed.

Most of us living in Arizona look forward to monsoon season, hoping for rain and the drop of temperatures that the storms bring, even if it is only a brief reprieve from the heat of summer.Last year was dry and disappointing but we have been assured that Monsoon 2025 will bring higher than average precipitation to the greater Phoenix area.
