Happy birthday to our unstoppable, inspirational, incredible, amazing president, Katrina!
Although we never see Katrina not dancing, she has been slaying not only as an Open Latin and Gold/PC Smooth dancer, but also as a researcher and diligent student. This semester was a nonstop whirlwind of endless paperwork, constant planning and coordinating, and demanding practices, but Katrina proved herself to be completely capable at managing the storm. She has worked hard to uphold HBLD as a space of love, friendship, support, fun, and improvement. Katrina never says no to anyone looking for new routines or mentorship, but she also never says no to anyone looking for a friend. All of us at Hofstra Ballroom can cite infinite cases of Katrina eagerly helping us far beyond what the duties of president would ask of her, organizing movie nights and baking escapades and group travels. At comp, you can bet she will be racing around the floor to catch the best angle of her teammates dancing.
We are all so proud of the huge strides Katrina is making, producing amazing results on the Open floor and continuing to stun everyone with her jaw dropping technique. She is truly a testament to the power of real commitment and practice; her rapid progress is all because of how dedicated she is to improving as a dancer. It is such a privilege to have her as our president, as she is absolutely one of the most caring, warm, encouraging, passionate people ever to exist. We have no doubts that Katrina will continue her tour de force with her 19-dance debut next semester (and as a personal aside as Co-PR Chair, can I just take a second to fangirls over how lucky I am to dance with her!!).
We are proud to have Katrina as the head of Hofstra Ballroom, as we all have much to learn from her as a dancer and as a person. Happy birthday to our wonderful president!!

Happy birthday to our amazing Treasurer, Calliope!! Calliope has been a committee, pivotal member of HBLD since she joined as a freshman. She is incredibly friendly and hard working, and she always brings an infectious, fun energy to practice. Calliope steps up to anything and everything— teaching, impromptu demonstrations of follow parts, infinite paperwork, filing and editing content, and most importantly, lead spins! She and Karly are improving so fast, and taking the comp floor absolutely by storm with their iconic costumes and even more iconic dancing! It is always such a pleasure and inspiration to watch the energy and confidence Calliope brings both to comp and to life. We are so lucky to have her, and we wish her all the best!

Happy birthday to Cassandra, our standard queen, and our go to paso lead instructor for our shared team routine 💃🕺🎊!! Throughout her time at HBLD, Cassandra has shown incredible commitment to the world of dance, continuing her training endeavors all the way from The Netherlands 🇳🇱 to Half Moon Bay, California 🌊. She never hesitates to help a fellow team member in need, offering advice, warmth, and an encouraging smile. But beyond just ballroom, Cassandra is an incredible friend, and spectacularly talented double major in political science and global studies. Cassandra is that one person you know you can always rely on, because she is so universally sweet and thoughtful. She will always listen, be present and be a good-natured force. She is also extraordinarily talented and intelligent—did I mention she was invited to speak on a panel as Hofstra’s most distinguished political science student?? Cassandra on her way to change public policy, one law at a time. We are incredibly lucky to have someone so amazing on our team and we wish her the very best birthday!!🎊🎂🎉
