A few completely random facts that probably explain more about me than a polished introduction ever could.

Some are very on brand. Some probably need a little explaining.

I’m curious which one made you think, “okay, same,” and which one you absolutely did not see coming.

Most couples do not struggle because they cannot find enough beautiful ideas.

They struggle because they are asked to choose flowers, paper, rentals, lighting and custom details before anyone has helped them determine what the wedding should actually feel like.

Then the budget starts disappearing into separate decisions that may not support the same direction.

A better order looks like this:

First, define the feeling.
Then identify the visual principles.
Then decide where the design needs to make the greatest impact.
Only after that should the individual pieces be selected.

This is how we help our couples avoid spending money on details they later have to change, replace or force into the design.

Save this before your next planning meeting, or send it to someone whose Pinterest board has officially stopped being helpful.

Sometimes there are clients who become so much more than clients.

When you have the privilege of walking alongside a family through multiple celebrations, their joy becomes your joy. You find yourself thinking about them long after meetings end, constantly turning over ideas, searching for the details that will make an event feel uniquely theirs. What will make them smile or surprise them? How can we create something that feels deeply personal and meaningful?

The truth is that some events are about far more than beautiful flowers or a beautifully dressed room. They are about people, relationships, and moments that matter.

The greatest gift a client can give us is their trust. It is never something we take lightly. When a client places that trust in our hands, we pour ourselves into every detail because we want them to feel cared for and truly seen.

And while there is immense joy in bringing those moments to life, there is often a quiet sadness when the event is over. Not because the work is finished, but because we know we will miss the people who allowed us to be part of such an important chapter in their story.

It speaks to sisterhood, to heritage, to feminine strength, and to the act of creating something from the ground up with your hands. That has always been at the center of our work.

Not just making things beautiful, but building spaces that feel intentional, personal, and lasting.

This name feels like us.

Introducing Herella Design, our new name and the clearest expression of what our work has become.

After nearly eight years of building Vine & Oak, we found ourselves in a season of reflection. Growth has a way of clarifying what matters. It asks you to look at what you have created with gratitude and then gently question whether it still represents who you are becoming.

Vine & Oak shaped us. It carried our early ambition, our creative risks, and the foundation of what we now know to be true about ourselves. Letting go of that name felt less like an ending and more like watching something you raised step confidently into its own life. Emotional, yes. But undeniably right.

At our core, nothing fundamental has shifted. We have always believed design is not simply what we do, but who we are. It informs how we see, how we build, how we serve. Our commitment remains the same. Every client should feel deeply heard. Every experience should feel intentional. Every detail should work in harmony with the next.

This is not a departure, it is a refinement.
