Another main drain repair completed!
We removed an existing 4" main drain that had been improperly/incompletely installed and corrected the drainage connections.
✅ Installed a new 4" WYE combo back into the stack
✅ Installed a new 4" x 2" sanitary tee
✅ Properly tied in the washing machine trap
✅ Tested the drain thoroughly
✅ Everything is working properly with no leaks

The rain isn’t coming down too hard in Philly today, but even a steady light rain can expose small drainage or foundation issues around the house.
If you have a basement, take a quick look around and make sure you don’t see any water entering the home.
A few common causes can include:

Clogged gutters or downspouts sending water back toward the house.
Cracks in the foundation or basement walls allowing water to seep through.
Basement windows or window wells taking on water.
Poor grading or drainage that directs rainwater toward the foundation instead of away from it.
Catching a little moisture early can help prevent a much bigger problem later.

BIG JOB. GREAT TEAMWORK. JOB DONE.

Shoutout to Mike and Dan for completing this extensive drain and plumbing replacement!

This job involved:

✅ Removing approximately 10 feet of 4" main drain in the basement
✅ Installing a new 4" x 4" WYE, 4" x 2" WYE, cleanout & 4" P-trap
✅ Opening the kitchen ceiling and bathroom wall to access the stack
✅ Cutting out the old ideal bend and lead drain lines
✅ Installing a new ideal bend and ABS drains for the sink and shower
✅ Installing a new 1½" chrome P-trap for the sink
✅ Testing all completed work for proper operation

Mike and Dan worked together to get this job completed from start to finish.

Another major plumbing repair completed and tested.

1 MAN DAN STRIKES AGAIN!

The job description started with “1 MAN DAN”… and Dan definitely took that personally. 😂💪

He excavated the basement floor approximately 24 inches deep, installed a replacement toilet tank and lid, set up a sump pump with new piping and a check valve, then added stone and cemented the opening back to grade.

The pump’s operating float will now automatically maintain the proper water level.

One man. One Dan. One basement that never stood a chance.

Another job done right by South Philly’s plumbing team!

For this job, we excavated the curb trap/lateral, discovered a break in the terracotta curb trap/piping, removed the damaged section, installed new 5” cast iron, connected it properly to the existing 5” terracotta, passed inspection, tested the work, backfilled, and cemented everything in. Job complete.

And here’s the part people should know: a certain huge plumbing company that rhymes with “Moto Mooter” quoted over $1,500 more for the same job.
