ATTN: GARDENERS
IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR
LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU COME ACROSS THEM IN YOUR GARDEN. DO YOU LET THEM BE OR DO YOU DESTROY THEM? FRIEND OR FOE?
IN MY OPINION THEY ARE A FRIEND & I DO NOT LIKE SPIDERS! THEY EAT OTHER INSECTS THAT EAT MY PLANTS & I CAN'T HAVE THAT SO I USUALLY LET THEM BE! UNLESS THEY ARE NOT IN THE GARDEN AND TOO CLOSE TO OUR HOME THEN THEY GOTTA GO! πππ
The yellow or golden garden spider (Argiope aurantia) is an arachnid that connects itself to its web to feel vibrations that signal to him prey has been caught. Its venom is harmless to humans but perfect for catching smaller insects that might cause harm to your garden. Yellow garden spiders web construction process includes bridge construction and scaffolding, making it among the more complicated web patterns.
Harmful to human
Yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia) is, as its name suggests, a spider often found in gardens and hence comes into contact with people regularly. While this isn't a particularly aggressive spider, it can bite when provoked and is venomous. The bite is best compared to that of a bee, causing some pain and redness in the surrounding area. The spider's bite isn't considered dangerous to adults, but care should be taken with small children, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems. If people in any of those groups are bitten, it is a good idea to seek medical attention just to be safe.
