I've been wanting to make a jointing sled for my table saw so I grabbed some scraps and materials I've had on hand for just such an occasion.
I cut down a sheet of melamine to roughly the size I wanted, and then I took a scrap of poplar, left over from building some cabinet doors, and glued it along the edge of the melamine so that I would have a sharp, clean edge, that would not chip out like the melamine was certain to do.
Next, I made channels for T-track about 12 inches in from each end by running them over my router table extension in my Grizzly table saw, using a three-quarter inch router bit, in two separate passes. I glued and screwed in the tea, track, and added the Rockler holddown clamps that I've had on hand for quite some time.
I've looked at some other designs, and I may actually add to this sled, but here it is in its current form.
