ASC Woodworks I left the corporate world behind to finally pursue my dream -- creating wood pieces for homes! I have photos and albums of a few of my more memorable projects.

After 35 years in the "real" world (mostly computer work, but also Finance and Chemistry), I have left all that behind and decided to try to eek out a living doing what I love -- creating beautiful and useful things from wood! Please let me know if you would be interested in having me build something for you and that space in your home where you always wanted to have something, but never quite found the right piece. Maybe we can design that piece together!

Still a “Work in Progress” but we’ve had a lot of progress recently. We could be a lot further along if the guy doing the work wasn’t so old and feeble!

And Lucy of course

Not as small as the cutting board, but not a whole room full of cabinets either. 😂 This is the bed frame I made for our new (finally!!!) mattress (and a Drag Queen at Standard Rec in Patchogue just to aggravate the MAGAts).

A client had an unused desk within their kitchen cabinets which became a storage hub. They wanted to make that space into a "regular" cabinet that matched the existing cabinetry. It took a while to figure out all of the custom cuts, but I think it came out pretty well. If you really look closely, you'll see some difference, but a casual observer won't notice 🤣 THANKS AGAIN to this client for their trust!!!

I now know why cabinetry is so expensive! Doing a custom build for a client and trying to match the existing door panels. Lots of hours, router bits, and creativity later, I think I’m pretty close. Here are some pics of “before” (board on the right) and “after” (door with Vitiligo on the left). And Lucy … and Nicho starting his mew adventure at U of Ohio! (Dramatic music just because it’s one of my favorites)

Vacation is over, the international part at least. 😂

Hi Everyone!

Haven’t posted for a while, we’ve been busy with redoing bedrooms and also started a kitchen remodel. After two weekends in Fredonia for Nicholas’ awesome recitals (and 5 days in between at Lake Chautauqua) I’ve finally had some time to get back to “work”. I was able finish the boxes for a new wall of cabinets and test fit them. (We are keeping the brick wall, but we did close off an unused fireplace; many will find that crazy😳). The countertop for that cabinet bank is going to be made from reclaimed teak, which is turning out to be much more cool than we thought it would! Unrelated: While sanding down the shelves in Nicho’s bedtoom, er decided that the super distressed look would be a cool contrast to the cleaner look of the grey walls. It also keeps a bit of the old scheme as a reminder!
