I’ve had several calls from homeowners asking what they need to do to prepare for the weather that is coming. Most swimming pools are equipped with freeze protection, which keeps the water moving during freezing temperatures. As long as the power stays on, these pools should be protected. You may want to cover your equipment with a tarp to protect it from wind & add an extra layer of protection. Be sure to keep the tarp away from hot surfaces (motor, etc.) as that could become a fire danger. If we lose power, that’s when we will see problems very quickly. AAA Pool Service has immediate openings for part-time and full-time pool technicians. Experience preferred, but not required.

Part-time schedule - 3 full days/week. This schedule would work well for local/remote college students as well as someone retired just looking for extra work.

Full-time position - 40+ hours per week, Monday-Friday, Saturdays as needed.

Chlorine tablets are in short supply these days! In case you are looking for some, I heard from someone who visited Leslie’s Pool Supplies in Haslet earlier today - they have 8 of the 35 lb. buckets in stock. 😀

The shortage of chlorine tablets this swim season has sent many of us online to look for pool supplies. BEWARE of scams! Several of our clients bought this online. The description was “300 pieces for $20” and the picture looked like a regular-sized bucket of tablets. The picture here is what they received… a Barbie-sized bucket filled with chlorine pieces the size of an aspirin! For reference, we’ve placed 2 regular-sized tablets next to the bucket. Standard chlorine tablets usually come in 25 or 50 pound increments. If ordering online, be sure to note the weight of what you are buying, so you don’t end up buying a baby bucket by mistake!
