47 & focused. ✨

Behind the professional look is a woman who has worked hard, taken risks, learned from mistakes, overcome obstacles, and kept building—even when life was happening behind the scenes.

At this stage of my life, success means more than business. It means growth, discipline, resilience, peace, and knowing my worth.

I’m proud of everything I’ve built, but I’m even more excited about what’s still ahead.

47. Businesswoman. Boss. Still learning. Still growing. Still building. 🤍

The next chapter is just getting started. ✨

I truly had the most beautiful surprise birthday party. 🤍

All week, my closest friends were ghosting me, and little did I know they were all in on the surprise. 😂🤍

This year, I told my girls that I didn’t want anything big. I wanted something very intimate, meaningful, and surrounded by the people closest to my heart. I had already chosen white calla lilies as my theme because of what they represent to me.

The calla lily symbolizes strength, resilience, beauty, rebirth, and new beginnings. 🤍 After everything this past year has brought into my life, those words carry so much meaning.

But there was another reason I chose them. One calla lily was for Sari. 🤍 A reminder that even though she is no longer physically here, her memory will always be part of the beautiful moments in my life. The others represented strength—the strength to keep going, keep growing, and continue blooming even through the hardest seasons.

My girls took something that was already meaningful to me and turned it into a night I will never forget.

Intimate. Beautiful. Meaningful. Exactly what my heart needed. 🤍

Thank you to my girls and my closest friends for making my birthday so special. And Sari, you were there in my heart, just like you always will be. 🤍

I’m extremely excited to announce a project I’ve been working on for over a year—it’s finally coming to life.

In October 2026, VKR Landscaping and VKR Income Tax will officially merge into VKR Inc.

We will also be breaking ground on our new headquarters location.

Our Mission location will be closing effective immediately, and we will be working remotely in the meantime. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

This is just the beginning.

Thirteen years ago, I was left with nothing — I had three children and a grandchild to provide for. We lived in a one-bedroom apartment at my parents’ home.

On 9/13/2013, VKR Landscaping was born.

I started with no degree, no formal education, and no financial backing — just hunger, determination, and the will to survive. Success isn’t about having a diploma or speaking perfectly. Success is about resilience. It’s about waking up every day and refusing to quit.

Today, during Women in Construction Week, I reflect on how far I’ve come and how many women in this industry work tirelessly without recognition. Sometimes the spotlight shines on the wrong people, and the real women who built their businesses from the ground up are forgotten.

To every single woman working in construction — especially the ones who fought their way here — I see you. I celebrate you. I congratulate you.

We are strong. We are capable. And we belong here.
