🔧 What Started as a Leaking Toilet Turned Into a Full Tank Rebuild — And What We Found Inside Was Concerning!
We were recently called out for a leaking toilet and what we discovered once we got into the job was more than just a standard repair. This one had some surprises hiding inside that needed to be addressed immediately.
Here's what we found and how we handled it: ✅
🔧 Rebuilt the toilet tank completely — replacing all internal components for restored performance and reliability
🔧 Replaced the existing supply stop valve with a new reliable unit — ensuring proper water supply control
🔧 Discovered one of the tank to bowl bolts was completely broken — a serious issue that compromises the entire integrity of the toilet
🔧 Found both tank to bowl bolts had been sealed with epoxy — an unprofessional and temporary fix that was masking a much bigger problem
🔧 Removed all broken and compromised hardware completely and replaced with proper quality components
🔧 Confirmed a fully functioning and leak free installation before leaving the job
Here's why this matters: 🤔
💧 Tank to bowl bolts hold the tank securely to the bowl — a broken bolt means the tank is never fully secure and is at risk of shifting, cracking, or completely separating
💧 Using epoxy on tank to bowl bolts is not a repair — it is a cover up that masks the real problem while the damage continues underneath
💧 A leaking toilet is never just a leaking toilet — what is hiding underneath and inside is almost always the real story
💧 Proper repairs with quality components are always the right call — shortcuts and cover ups always cost more in the long run
